this is my 2003 Yamaha...i've put a lot pf time and money into this bike, and i love it dearly...but i think i love my car more...should i sell the bike and use the $6000.00 to continue the mods on the vibe?...or should i be patient and keep the bike...let me know what you guys think...

That's a pretty tough one as $6000 could do a lot to the Vibe, but I wish I had a bike like that and would probably not get rid of it just to mod my car.

one vote to keep...i know, i know...but at least my wife would quit harping on me about getting killed on my bike, i mean, as a police officer, i take the chance of getting shot every day, who cares if i get hit on a bike..Quote, originally posted by damronjr »That's a pretty tough one as $6000 could do a lot to the Vibe, but I wish I had a bike like that and would probably not get rid of it just to mod my car.

Keep the bike. I had to put my dreams of getting a bike on hold now that I have my GT.

Definitely keep the bike.I put myself in the same situation as NUBlackshirts, and kick myself every so often for doing so.

I didn't. Just because I'd love to see what you could do to the Vibe with $6,000!I'd like to have a bike myself, so I'm definitely not the "typical" fearful woman/wifely figure and that's not why I voted for it, but in the end you have to do what you want to do. If you want to sell it, sell it. If you want to keep it, keep it, no matter which way the votes go. In the end, you'll only be happy if you do what you want to do.

I have a Vibe ... and a bike ... and I will definitely keep both. As much fun the Vibe is to drive, it cannot compare to the openness and speed you can achieve on a bike ... the thrill factor is just too much for me to abandon. And, in case something happens to your Vibe, you have another mode of transportation!Sure wish I had a nice bike like yours!
too hard to decide.....so...

I didn't vote.... if the bike is paid for, I'd sure keep it....with gas prices going up, and you in Florida, using the bike to get to work (unless you are assigned a patrol car to take home, then my whole argument is out the window) would save you a lot of money, and keep the miles off the Vibe. On the other hand, if there is any money owed on the bike, and you can sell it and make a profit while getting rid of a debt.....well... in the end it's up to you, I just hope I added some thought to the fire...BTW, sweet bike......very nice!!

Man keep the bike, And if you have to give up the wife. I gave up my FZR many years ago, I regret it still to this day.I've been married for 12 years and I would trade her for my old bike anyday of the week.

I've been bike-less for a few years, and I sure miss the adrenaline rush. I remember reading the "letters to the editor" in Motorcyclist magazine quite a few years ago, and a reader responded to a test they did on the new (then) GPZ 1100 Kawasaki, asking "Where can you ride a motorcycle 175mph?", and their reply was "On any sidestreet" As for fuel mileage, the Vibe probably gets better mpg than the bike (or darn close). Nice bike. Keep it, but be careful on it. Now you have me wanting to check out the new '05 bikes....

I think that unless you are putting in a turbo on the Vibe you should keep the bike. Other than a turbo there isnt many more good mods worth selling a bike for. Thats just my opinion though I wish I had a bike too.

If I were you, I'd sell the bike and the Vibe, give the money to the poor, and join the Trappist Monestary.

Keep the Bike. Do you have kids? Once you have kids there is no chance in hell she will let you keep the bike. Enjoy it while you can. You get twice the use out of your bike than I can, they don't perform well in the snow. It was -13F here yesterday and we got a foot of snow on Monday, spring is far, far away for me.

I would say sell it. I am selling my bike it's a 1992 Yamaha XJ600. I love riding but, it would be great to have that extra cash, not for the vibe, but for the wedding and the house.

I say keep the bike too. Im not a "crotch rocket" gal, but my boyfriend has a Yamaha RS Warrior that I just LOVE. Now he wants to sell it to get some Syclone truck or something, but I want him to keep the bike!

There is nothing like riding a bike. You should keep it. The Vibe is a good ar but anyda of the week a bike is way more exhilirating.

They'll smoke a Corvette off the line!

LOL That's what HE said! He showed me a picture of one and I was like...you want to sell the bike for THAT? But then he told me how fast they go, and that there were only ever 3,000 made or something...so I guess I can understand. But man, I love that bike! He's worked really hard at it and done some cool mods to it and it really turns heads when we're out riding--it's a hot looking motorcycle!

after much thought...and a 90 MPH ride home (i'm a cop, i don't get tickets, remember), leaned over scraping the foot-peg, and listening to that M4 exhaust scream, there is no way in hell i can sell the thing...i'll just have to mod the vibe out a little at a time...
