luggage rack

and can someone PLEASE tell me how to remove that ghastly luggage rack...

Are you talking the WHOLE rack or just the crossbars? There are threads for removing both, just click on the SEARCH button and type in "rack removal" or "roof rack" or something and they should come up.

i screwed around with that thing for twenty minutes...i can get the screws out, but i can't remove the rails, which is all i want to do....

Incase you don't feel lik searching simply slide the up and towards the rear of the car. Once I broke off all teh clips on my left rail I learned how to remove them properly (removed)!

Removed my crossbars yesterday. Took me about 20 minutes. Just be very careful when taking off the caps.
