i live in the land of monstrous bugs (Florida), and the front grill of my girl is covered with crystalized bug carcass...any ideas how to get these guts off without ruining the paint?

You can get a bug and tar remover from an auto parts store. They're fairly cheap actually.Inder

Scrub it with that bug and tar remover with something non-abrasive. It should come right off, might take a few washings to get it all off if they have been on there a while. Spent a year in Pensacola FL and I know exactly how you feel!

Turtle Wax Bug & Tar (& Sap) Remover works great! Spray, let it soak for a minute, and it wipes right off with a clean old towel, or even a paper towel! And this is from Texas, where the bugs are legendary as well. I use it everyday to keep my front end spotless.

Before you wax it, get a bug and tar sponge and a little bit of Kerosene, wet the sponge and it should take off all the tar and bugs, BUT MAKE SURE YOU WAX AFTERWARDS!! It's a little tip from my car detailing days.
