very trick!!! Direct-port No2 is the safest system to go with, up to this point it required drilling into the intake manifold, this new system is fitted right in with the fuel injector, no drilling and can be removed without a trace. here is a linkhttp://www.nosnitrous.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Prod ... OSzle.html

That is great. That looks like it would be a easy install also. Removing the stock fuel injectors is easy. What's a set up like this run?

I think the 4-cyl kit retails right around $1000

Nitrous will put you into a whole nother level vehicles you could race and beat. Nitrous is a toold just like turbo is. No one says someone cheated because they had a turbo. Really this could be said about anything you do to your car. Oh you have a exhuast so you cheated. Give me a break. Just drive off laughing at them LOL

there is no cheating if you are not running an event... on the street winning is winning. PERIOD

Cheat:1. To act dishonestly; practice fraud. 2. To violate rules deliberately, as in a game1. if the guy said he used nitrous, he's not acting dishonestly.2. Cheating can only occur when there are rules to break. On the street, there are no rules. If there are no rules to break there is no way to cheat.Nitrous is no different than a turbo or a blower. All 3 are just ways to force more air and fuel into an engine, nothing more.

How much money to refill a bottle and WHERE do you get a refill? I "THINK" this is all the wife has schreeched at me when I showed her this thread..... Gotta go get myself another beer. STILL deaf from all the yelling. All I DID was just mention it to her....GEEZ! Mike

With a set-up likr this I would go with a 50-75hp shot on the street. The bottle will last for about 10 1/4 mile passes. As for refills, you local speed shop should be able to help you out, your looking at about $4 a Lb 10lb bottle comes with the kit so about $40 a re-fill. Some areas requir that you get a permit to carry compressed gas, which can be obtained from simply filling out an application and sending it to you local offices. Ylou local speed shop sjould know the laws in your area, chech with them.

Don't know if it hurts the car more than supercharging etc? I never researched it, never understood it or tried.... If these numbers are anywhere NEAR close to real life., I can muzzle, uh....silence the wife's objections pretty easily! Now I wonder if I can use nitrous AND a supercharger once she stops watchin my old *** so close? Plus, I coucl maybe set up the nitrous so she gets a dose also when she starts to *****? Thanks, Mike

NitrousExpress makes a kit for our vehicles. Go to http://www.nopi.com and look under the Toyota Matrix. They have a kit from 35 HP to 75 for our cars. The complete kit will run you around $550 last time I checked.A buddy of mine runs Nitrous and he seems to get about 25 races in before he fills his bottle. He loves it. He's running 75 shot on a 4 banger Honda Accord. The Kit Andrew has shownsounds and looks awesome. The only reason I brought up Nitrous Express is because they make a kit for our cars.

Almost all NOS kits are universal.... if you understand what you need out of the kit you can use the one labeled MUSTANG and save money as Domestic kits(even thought they are the same parts) tend to be cheaper.--- And YES NOS is the best bang for the buck... hands down there is nothing that comes close, if your on a budget and wanna go fast, do your research, understand NOS and hoe it works, as well as the kit that you are getting and squeeze away!! The amount of stress it would put on the engine would be about the same as the charger.. 50 more HP is 50 more HP. the engine stress is the same. -You do have to be slighly more cautous with NOS. I suggest a EGT gauge to watch temps... when the Exhaust gets hot that is when you break things...

I suggest if you get nitrous to take your car to a shop with a chassis dyno and wideband oxygen sensor tuning abilities. The nitrous companies give you suggested jetting to obtain the desired HP level with the proper air fuel ratio. However all cars are different and you can verify that you have a safe mix on a chassis dyno. This bit of extra money will provide alot of happy motoring!Jason
