These guys act like they are the first people in the world to do a burn out! Nothing used to aid the burn out stated... Right, just plain old tires, next!Still cool none the less...mms://streaming.streetfire.net/media/249E6F45-8558-4171-A222-55A56C05FD28.wmv

I always liked the Marauder. Damn he probably took all the rubber off those tires.

Why mess around, just buy a used late 90's SS Impala. Just my two cents.

I always liked the 1960 Impala. Way too many people liked the '64, and it just became too common.

The '61-'63 were nice, but the '64 was just way too played out. The '65 was cool and after that I couldn't tell the difference. The '58 was nice, but I just never got into it. I always said if I win the lottery I would buy a '59 or '60 convertible. And a '58 Cadillac Sedan deVille Fleetwood! Oops, sorry, a bit off topic I guess

I'm not entirely sure that Marauder is stock. A couple of reviews I've read said it can't do a burnout from a dead stop.It doesn't hit peak torque until 4300 rpm (318 ft/lbs.), so that could explain that issue.

The s/c on that car is aftermarket and the car needs it too. It came with the Mustang 4.6L in it, but weighed a lot more then the Mustang. Published numbers show it ran 6.9 seconds 0-60 and 15.4 in the 1/4 mile in stock form.

That car was in impeccable shape, looked like it rolled of the showroom floor that day! Loved that car!90% sure the Merc Marauder had 305 HP stock...

I have been trying it since you posted it, but can't get it to work for some reason.

It won't beat a stock Mustang from the same year. My GTO only makes 45hp/47tq more then the Marauder but will do the 1/4 mile nearly 2 seconds faster.

oh c'mon N'Dog...thats not a fair comparison. Not only do you have 2 more forwards gears, but the Marauder was built to be a highway cruiser with oomph, not a sports car like your GTO!

Nice smoke. He must have had a line-lock on it. (brake lights not on in burnout towards the end of video)

Finally got it to work on my comp at home! Pretty bad-@$$! I always liked those Marauders! I know he went through at LEAST 1 set of new tires like that! Wish the Vibe had that much power!

Now that was freakin' cool! My buddy does stuff like that in the parking lot at work with his '86 Regal. Not as dramatic, but same effect. Now he's starting to play around with his '72 Impala and getting it to do almost as impresive burnouts as the Regal.I've sat on the hill approaching our parking lot at work and lit up the tires on the Vibe before. I get so much smoke inside the car that I can't breathe and the stink gives me a headache. I stop on the hill, set the parking brake, pop the clutch in 1st to get the tires spinning, then shift to second and hold the gas pedal half way down and just sit there and let 'em smoke. I always have to stop because I get too much smoke in the car even with the windows all rolled up, the recirculating air shut off and the blower fan shut off. Next time I get some junk tires that I want to burn off for fun I might try wearing my painting resipirator mask to see if I can hold out longer. The thing that sucks about doing this is the inevitable mess of molten rubber that gets flung all over the inside of the wheel wells, the mudflaps, and the body of the car. But damn is it fun!
