What do you keep in front door storage compartments?

Part of the fun 'sociology experiment' aspect of a forum like this is to find out what people store in their Vibes and where. Most of the stuff I try to put in there falls out: Magazines, newspapers, sheet music, driving directions from Mapblast, paperback books (most are too thick) I discovered that the 'old school' VHS tape boxes (like you'd get with a rental tape at a video store) are a perfect fit. Now I use one to keep coupons and gift-cards handy. (What? Christmas was only about 40 days ago?) It also holds my ice scraper in place. Here's a somewhat related thread on the all the cubbies and crannies --> " TARGET="_blank">http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4258I SEARCH'ed and we've apparently never had a POLL specific to the door pockets, so what do YOU use the door pockets for????

i found a squeegie (spelling?) that fits perfectly in there....one thing i've found is that the vibe's windows don't remove that dew in the mornings by simply rolling them down and then back up again...so i now have a squeegie....which also works great at quickly removing a light dusting of frost!

I just use it as a temporary storage compartment for misc stuff, ut I don't keep anything there because my Vibe rattles enough as it is with my 10JLW7! Don't want to add to the chattering! Need to get the whole thing Dynamatted!

Dude, those holders gotta be good for at LEAST 20 horses each! Seriously though...I keep my XM remote, or lottery tickets, in there. Not much usually...

Map books for me - the 2 main books for Southern Ontario (1 for eastern, 1 for southwestern) are about 10" x 12" and about 1-2" thick. We find they fit perfectly - one per door!

Usually, I'll keep a couple pens, maps and various other paper junk in them. I don't use them for too much else, as practically anything I put in there will end up rattling thanks to the speakers. Further up on the driver's door panel, the remote for my Sirius tuner fits in perfectly in the indentation used for closing the door. OTOH, that makes the door a bit more difficult to close.

I was bad about using the driver's door compartment on my old car for candy wrappers, slips of paper, etc. It was a convenient spot to put them and easy to clean out.I'm trying to ignore that they are there on my new (to me) Vibe and use a trash bag, but I'm still working on the best way to handle trash while driving. Hmm, maybe I should search the forums and see how people deal with it.

Not a thing. Got enough rattles and buzzes to track down as it is. Don't need anything in the door pockets making even more noise.

I've got a coupon-holder type thing in the driver's side pocket, and have every intention of keeping track of receipts for parking, tolls, and deductible expenses. I'll be adding a little notebook for mileage once I remember to take it out there. Trying to make tax-time easier next year!

My driver's side one is full of straw wrappers and a map of either Nashville or Columbus, I can't remember which. The passenger side one (still) contains the directions I printed off of Mapquest to get to where I needed to go in Columbus last year for the Ohio rally.

Man, you still have those directions! My directions sucked so bad that I pitched them as soon as I got close to Columbus, of course, mine were from mapquest.

Yep, I just never cleaned them out...I don't clean out that side too often. I try to keep the straw papers from overflowing too badly on the driver's side at least.

Depends on the destination. Maps, tire gage, one of those generic folding tools. I try to keep the Vibe as empty as I can. Keeps the clutter and noise down. The garage door opener is in the small square-ish open console nook. Old Tele man's signature is great. A dry heat it is. When I lived in Phoenix, I told everyone that it was great training, just in case hell was the final stop. Just turn up the coals and it would eventually feel like home!

my option isn't there. in the driver's side i usually have at least 2 knives. passenger side is empty. in the trunk there is usually at least one more knife sliding around or in the back pockets.

Sorry, couple month old thread but I have not been on here for months. I find that a Springfield XD40 Service in an Uncle Mike's el cheap-o right hand draw IWB holster fits perfectly. I've lost a BUNCH of weight over the last few months and carrying IWB in the Vibe is a bit painful on the hip bone, so I stuff it in the pocket until I get to where I'm going.
