There were posts about the rattling dash, what you need to do is take off the rings around the gauge clusters, there are little clips in there, put a piece of electrical tape or scotch tape around the male part of the clip, this will stop the rattling. The fan, on the other hand, I would ask the dealer.

Poopster is right. The gauge cluster was made very cheaply, and the plastic clips rattle. I also had a rattle inside inside my A-Pillar (driver side) from similar cheap clips. This link by Vibe Owner will help you fix it easily. It is really simple, so anyone can do it. http://home.comcast.net/~vibeowner/vibrations.htm

If you're still under warranty, you should be able to get the dealer to fix rattles for free. Not sure about the weird fan noise, but if you take it to a dealer for warranty work and they say it's normal, then have them show you the exact same noise in a couple of brand new cars to prove that it's normal.Welcome to genvibe!

while bringing it back to the dealer to fix the rattles while still under warranty is one option...from the situations i've read about here (and with friends at other dealers) i'm not sure i'd want some mech guy at the dealer prying my dash apart to find it when i could possibly do it myself with greater care.the clips are cheap, but the plastic on the dash isn't exactly the most scratch/scuff resistant!

It's gonna be tight the first few times you pull it out...You CAN use a screwdriver to pry at it, but you risk hacking up the rest of the dash.Just wiggle it...and make sure you lower the steering wheel all the way...it'll come loose eventually...

I believe the weird noise coming from the fan is caused by the a/c compressor.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=12989

Wait, should i be pulling out the rings or the whole dash assembly, i've been trying to pull the rings off.

The whole ring assembly comes off in one piece. All the rings and the flap of plastic that goes over your odometer button are all one piece. The link I previously posted shows a picture of the assembly. If you are worried that you might break something, its ok to go to the dealer. If they screw something up, you can always hold them acountable.

The center ring clip (just below the speedometer ring) is the squeeky culprit. Put a thin piece of tape (I used electrical tape, but any should suffice) over the plastic clip so when it clips to your dashboard, it will not have plastic on plastic contact. The plastic rubbing together makes it squeek, so putting something between them will shut it up.
