I may be able to make this one, but may have to arrive alone. This will depend on several things:1--My sister is getting married that month and I forget which weekend so I have to check on this, but I think it is earlier in the month.2--My sister and g/f are graduating college, but I think all that stuff will be overwith before the meet date also. I want to be on the safe side and check with all parties involved so I don't get yelled at by enraged women. I'm sure you all understand .3--My g/f may not be able to go with me because she plans to be taking her pharmacy state board exam around that time and she will be studying like there's no tomorrow. Looks like I'll might have to dine a the Big Buck Brewery alone this time.Rich--do you think you'll be leading a group to that hockey-themed place we visited after the meet last year? I liked that place and it seemed like the group we went with had a good time. Afterward I can get as schnockered as Teddy Kennedy when I get back to the hotel because the Big Buck is on the other side of the parking lot from the hotel, well within walking distance. Even for Teddy. Man, that place had some good food and great beer.I don't know what I'll do without my g/f while I'm up there, though. She's my traveling partner and gets me to do fun stuff when I'm out of town that I probably won't do on my own. I'll have to try really hard to persuade her. Since she sat in my car at the meet most of the time last year, maybe I can tell her to bring her study materials so I don't have to go alone. If I can possibly make this trip, I definitely want to.So my official head count status is currently on hold as a "maybe". I should know within a few days. And is this head count a true head count of the number of people we can expect, or are we trying to find out the number of Vibes that are expected to attend?Possible 18.

It sure was a great time last year. I think everyone enjoyed the good food and Red Wings hockey.

I have to agree with Hope on this one. I've been looking for over a year now at buying a restorable classic car from out west, and the cheapest I was able to find to have a car shipped by a car hauler one way from Arizona here to Pittsburgh was a little over $1000. It would be impractical to ship it by airplane. Sending it by railroad is usually the cheapest way, but the car shipping service on the railroad is very limited. It is only offered in a few select cities.

It's a bummer having to drive 15 miles, isn't it? I mean... like... why don't they have it right here at the local Dairy Queen?

Quote, originally posted by Stang2Vibe »So redlava, where was it that you stayed last year?I stayed in the Knights Inn like 5 miles up the road. Last year around that time I was a little short on money, and that place was fairly cheap. Hopefully this year that will not be an issue. The knights Inn wasn't bad, I have stayed in much much much worse, but I would have liked better. Maybe that place across the street from the dealership, or where the majority of everybody else is staying this year.

Ok, well I thought I would give people heads up not to plan anything on June 25th but I gues my mom thoguht it would be hilarious to schedule my grandparent's 50th aniversary party on the 25th and their actual aniversary is on the 11th!What time will the meet be start and finish? I might be able to come to it for like an hour or more then go to the party at around 12 and then come back for hte end of the meet if it is still going on? I know last year people met at Dave and Busters...I've been looking forward to this meet as soon as I drove out of the meet parking lot last year so if I miss it I'm going to be upset.

Unless the car didn't have an engine of course. lol Would'nt cost anymore money, and it would be a lot more fun.LOL. That would be fun except that it is like 3,000 miles. I wouldn't really want to risk it in a car that I just bought that is about 35-40 years old and cost me less that $3000. That would be a LONG walk home . I could probably get a week off work, but to tell my professors that I'm taking a week off school to go buy a big old car and drive it home probably wouldn't fly. Not to mention that it could quite possibly take me significantly longer to get home if something goes wrong. If I were buying a car from that era or older that cost in the $30,000-$40,000 range, then sure, I'd love to fly out and drive it home. It would be an awesome trip to drive a classic car up old Rt. 66.As for hotels, some of us stayed in a Marriott Courtyard Inn near the Silverdome in Auburn Hills last year. The hotel was rather nice and I think it only took me about 15 minutes to get to the meet. And the Big Buck Brewery is right across the parking lot as I previously mentioned. My g/f wants me to buy a Big Buck franchise and locate it here in Pittsburgh so that we don't have to drive all the way to Michigan to go there. lol.
