2006 FORD Fusion

After going to the auto show I wanted to say I really liked some of the new models. One was the 2006 FORD Fusion sedan...Now I am not a FORD guy at all but this car was very nice...2.3L 4 cyl engine base price $18,000. It is a stretched Mazda6 platform and the one at the show I saw must have been loaded. What do others think? (will not bother me if you think it is ugly either) The Saturn Aura was sweet too! If GM built it just like at the show, I may just buy a Saturn for once!

Looks kinda like a newer Honda, and I don't like the new front grill thing they're doing, but otherwise it is a pretty sharp looking car! I wouldn't mind having one! I would change the front grill, though!

Good pics...My one beef is the Blue Oval Badge! Man, Ford has to give in once and change it to either be body color, use inlays, outlines with body color background or make it brushed silver! Brushed silver would be great for the rims. It just sticks out all the time! It is OK to change or modify the damn thing, others do and it still is fine. People do not say I would not buy one because the Oval was changed...

I like it. I can't wait to see one in person. As for the 4 cyl question, yes I believe it will be enough. My Sebring has a 2.4L 4 cyl and gets around just fine. I would imagine the Fusion to be around the size of the Sebring. It doesn't have the "wild" feel that my Vibe GT did, but it pulls hills with a lot more confidence.

I like it. There is a mini write up on it in Motor Trend this month. They say that it is a little on the small size (compared to it's competitors - Accord & Camry), but it should be able to perform pretty well.I think the front end looks like the last generation Honda Prelude - I think that is why I like it.

Is it me, or am I looking at a pre 96 Honda Prelude bank end and a 97 Prelude front end?

Not bad, It looks like a cross between a VW Jetta and the front end of a Cadillac. I do like the interior, very clean and basic. I hate that wood crap and buttons and dials everywhere.

Ford CON-Fusion??Looks like a Ford Focus 4-dr sedan with hideous taillight treatment and a new-look front end. I bought the Vibe over the Focus because the Vibe was so much roomier inside with similar performance. The ZX-5 was tiny by comparison, the wagon had more length, but still very cramped. The instrument cluster looks pretty much like Focus too.
