on my way to work today, i was making a left turn and my 'low windshield fluid' light turned on....once the car straightened up it turned off...so the sensor must be on the left side of the container.it's there and it works....!

Im wondering if anyone with a 'made for USA' Vibe has the low washer warning?

I don't think so... both Mike and I have taken off our front bumpers and looked at the resivoir. There's a place where the sensor would go, and even a wiring harness, but no sensor. And as far as we can tell, no light on the instrument cluster that we could even make light up.But, if we can find differently...

See, I don't understand why everyone in the US is making a huge deal about adding that warning light. I used to have one in my Mazda. I hated it. It was annoying, when it was just at the sensor, just like what happened with yours, it would flash on and off. I am personally happy I don't have that light.

i'm glad i had it. i had a long drive the next day through some areas that are not heavily populated (read: "dark 2 lane highways"). So i filled up my washer at home instead of in the pitch dark in -23C weather on some rarely travelled road.....i'll live with a little light flicker during left turns for that 'early warning'!

It's all personal opinion, but I'm happy I don't have it.

My Malibu had it... But luckily the light was on a 30 second delay, so it really didn't go off and on too much due to the fluid sloshing around in there. It was a nice thing to have, but I didn't really care for it. 30 seconds after starting the car when the washer fluid was low, you'd hear DING DING DING and the light would come on. Same deal when driving down the road, if you got low on fluid, DING DING DING! That startled people who were in the car, "Oh no, what was that? What's that light that just came on?" lol... Plus the light never went out until you added fluid. Some GM cars like my folks' Impala for instance, have a low washer warning that only stays on for x amount of time after starting the car, then it quits buggin' ya. That I could live with, but not the constant light staring me in the face the entire trip that the Malibu had. So instead of letting it tell me when I was low on fluid, I topped it off every time the hood was open as to not be bothered. Definitely a personal preference with this thing.

The one on my Silverado PU is 'smart' they prorammed in sloshing/flicker avoidance. The low washer level comes up in the information panel display, usually just when I start the truck then goes off again. No flicker, no ding-ding, and when it says it is low, it is low! All-in-all the RIGHT way to do this-GJ GM! (we wont discuss the u-joints or noisey injectors... )I asked above because from what I have read over the last year or two in here, there seems to be the occaisonal 'oddball' Vibe. For example, a Moon & Tune package, but stock radio/no amp or 6 channel speakers/amp w/o a sun roof. So I thought what the heck, maybe there is an 'oddball' US Vibe with that in it.

Speak of the devil.....mine came on last night as well.......I've had my VIBE now for 2 months before having to refill it.Bought a 4 Litre jug and on the refill it took 99% of that refilled to the cap.MY LOW fluid light by the way was blinking in a random manner not a steady blink blink....lol.

Sadly, that reminds me of my Malibu too... The two times the low coolant light ever came on, it went in the shop for new intake gaskets. So it was more or less an intake gasket failure reminder.

I've seen it too, it's beside the temp gauge and its yellow. We had a chinook here and I was using my washer fluid like crazy when I noticed it come on.

Hmm... are those on the 2003 base model? I've emptied mine twice and never noticed a light. Then again, I've overlooked the "door ajar" light too, 'cuz it's the same freakin' color as everything else on my instrument cluster. ~ Z600
