1ZZ cams are out. Thanx to crower!

I just heard that the 1ZZ cams have been oficially released by crower. they also released titanium retainers as well. they offer a stage 1 which is slightly more power. a forced induction specific cam for all you turbo fans and they released a stage 2 & 3 N/A race only cam. they are very cheap and come with both the Intake and exhaust cam. I believe it was under $500 and around $400 for the retainers.

Here's Crower's Toyota listings, but no 1ZZ applications are shown:http://www.crower.com/cat/impo...shtml (Sometimes the website is an afterthought for bigger/older companies, so maybe they're just slow at posting the new info.)

Yeah, but there are over seventy million (I'm not exaggerating) other potential customers out there to defray the develoment costs of the Chey cam...

What kind of gains can be expected from using these?

Judging from the results of their other cams, and the results of cams from different companies, I'd hazzard the following estimation (NA applications):stage 1: +05%stage 2: +10%This, of course, is on top of your existing mods, meaning the actual numbers will depend on your current output.

crower said today that the cams are ready to ship right now. the retainers however are on a 2 week delay.

Hey sorry to uproot an old thread but I have questions. I am interested in cams Inder suggested I get some. I have a 2003 base auto.Would I be able to get just the cams or would I need the retainers as well? Currently I have Borla exhaust and Cosmo CAI. I have learned the basics of internals already but I am just now starting to get deep into them so any info. you can give me would be great.

Depends, the retainers most likely just allow a tad bit more lift since they aren't having you swap out the springs. What's the stock max lift and the max lift of any of these cams?

I am willing to bet though, after a cam install, intake, header, exhaust, midpipe, and ecu reflash, the base stick could easily keep up with if not beat a GT.Inder
