Broken images removed. If anyone has these images, IM me.-Millsterthis is something that will affect the GT guys over time.***These pics were taking on a celica so certain things in the background will look a lil off ***Symptoms: If you have problems of losing lift or Lift kicking on late (I.E.- 6500 rpms instead of 6200 rpms) and your lift bolts are NOT broken you'll want to check this filter. Cause: Small particulates can get stuck inside the metal mesh filter which adds more resistance to the path of the oil. This means the oil take slonger to travel and results in lift coming on late or in severe cases not at all. ******************************************************************************* Here is the filter itself. Before Cleaning - After Cleaning -Here is the VVTI Fluid Control valve with my hand for size reference -Here is the VVTI Fluid Control valve - (zoomed out a bit for orientation)

Here is the tools you'll want to use - (socket is 10mm)I dunno how the vibe is setup so I'll use only the basic steps cause hte celica is a bit different. You can always shoot me a pm here or onthe celica sites if you get stuck.

Disconnect these 2 hoses..Disconnect this hose. Here is the hoses removed...Remove these 2 bolts to take off the wiring - Remove the remaining bolts and unplug the wiring harnesses **there's 2 harnesses, 2 nuts and 3 bolts** Stuff a rag underneath the control valve cause a little bit of oil will leak out.Pull the control valve out from the block. Here is where you should find the filter - Here's what it will look like when you take the filter out. Here is the VVTI fluid control valve removed -

once the filter is out, spray it really good with brake cleaner until it's nice and clean. refer to the 2 pics at the top of this thread to see what it should look like. hope this helps. Lemme know if you have questions or problems

As the box says, you have to be a registered user of the site they're hosted on to view them.

I can't view the pics. Is this a yamaha-2Z or Toy-1ZZ engine with this, or both.

This affects the 2ZZ only. Not yours.
