Ali G' character causes near riot at rodeo Crowd turns 'downright nasty' after 'Borat' garbles national anthem LONDON - British comedian Sasha Baron Cohen escaped a near-riot at anAmerican rodeo while filming his satirical "Da Ali G Show."According to a report in the Roanoke (North Carolina) Times, a man who wasintroduced as Boraq Sagdiyev from Kazakhstan - in reality a Cohen characternamed Borat - appeared at the rodeo over the weekend after organizers agreedto have him sing the national anthem.After telling the crowd he supported America's war on terrorism, he said, "Ihope you kill every man, woman and child in Iraq, down to the lizards ...And may George W. Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child inIraq." He then sang a garbled version of "The Star-Spangled Banner."The Roanoke Times reported that the crowd turned "downright nasty." Oneobserver said "If he had been out there a minute longer, I think somebodywould have shot him."Cohen and his film crew were escorted out of the Salem Civic Center and toldto leave the premises."Had we not gotten them out of there, there would have been a riot," rodeoproducer Bobby Rowe told the paper. "They loaded up the van and theyscreeched out of there."It is not the first time Cohen has wooed controversy with his show, whichairs on HBO. In one episode last year, Borat sang an anti-Semitic songcalled "Throw the *** Down the Well" at a country music bar, promptingprotests from the Anti-Defamation League.Producers of the Ali G show, Talkback Thames, were unavailable for comment.

There is a morning radio show here that always plays drops from the show, makes me laugh all the time! (In his ethnic voice) "If you a hire me, can I put camera in ladies toilet?"

I have recently discovered Borat thanks to people at work... Good god, this stuff is all kinds of messed up!! I think it would be good to see just for the shock factor alone. Totally foul and nowhere near in good taste.

My hubby is dying to see it as he's been watching the Ali G show for quite a while now. We have gift certificates so we might use them for that.

I buy prerecord moviedisc for purpose domestic viewing of moviefilm! Holy crap is it funny! It gets funny the second you open it up, the DVD itself was made to look like somebody burned it, has a knockoff of Memorex's logo on the top (says DEMOREZ, Is Life? No Demorez.) and BORAT written with a sharpie. (removed)!The best part had to be the hotel scene where he and whatshisname were running around the hotel nekkid! Very nice! This was great moviefilm!
