when people you work with have no respect for each others cars. a friend of mine was outside the building and said my car alarm was going off cuz this particular girl flung her car door into mine. we all work for the same company, we all share the same parking lot... COME ON!

So... you didn't go look at the damage when you turned off the car alarm it is it still going off?Yeah, people with no depth perception or poor lack of respect for other people's property need to take a hike.

If there was one group of people on Earth that could be gotten rid of, I would choose careless door dingers. Well, maybe not...but get some respect for other people's property. Jeez.

The funny thing is, if you dinged their car, they'd probably be ready to kill you. That's how it always goes.

Not slating this against anyone over weight but one time I was having dinner with an Enterprise rep, long story there but we use them alot so they bring us donuts, take us to dinner... all fun. And while we're eating, we can see where we parked. Pulling right up to the car with no room for herself to even walk between, let along climb out of her car, parks this heavy set woman. As you can imagine... "DING" and added damage as she pulled on the door to get herself out of the car, then huffed and puffed her way out from between the cars... Funny thing is there was no car parked next to her, she could have parked there and got out no problem.

Michele I hope they didn't cause that much damage.People these days have no respect. They don't care about anything but themselves. I always try to be considerate of others because that is how I was raised.I had my car for 2 months when this lady hit the back of my Vibe in an empty parking lot!!!! There were no cars around my Vibe for at least 50 feet when she decided to turn near my car to get closer to the store and sideswiped the back of the car. She was about to leave (I saw this since I was leaving the store at the same time, what luck!) when a passing motorist made her stop. Thank God for some honest people. The lady waited till I came out and offered to pay the damages. She would have not done that if it wasn't for that passing motorist.Anyways Michele once again I really hope that nothing happened to your Vibe

Well, ok maybe not lol, but it sucks either way. It's nice to see you around here again Michele . How's SD holding up under all this rain? My poor mother was freaking out because of the La Conchita landslide -- she lives in Oxnard. It's very sad indeed -- nearly 25 people MAY have lost their lives.* * * thread hijack sidetracked! Back to your regularly scheduled thread about inconsiderate aholes.

the rain out here is definitely interesting... at least people's reaction to it. seems a little water hits the road and it's the end of the world...i live at the top of a hill and for the past couple of nights we've watched gallons upon gallons of water rush down the street. and i learned that i need new winshield wipers...

Personally, I love the rain, and have no trouble driving in it....WITHOUT other idiots on the road. Leave it up to a few morons who can't drive in the rain, and life is miserable for everyone else.

Its so funny reading you guys complaining about the yahoos on the road in the rain... I'd hate to see what happens if you got some snow with that at the same time.

Quote, originally posted by Mavrik »People need to park their cars giving themselves enough space to get out. That they do! It's a pretty simple concept really, but how it eludes the masses, I'll never know. I park extremely far away whenever I can. Then, I get home and have a stinkin' assigned parking space here at the apartment. So in the end, all that extra walking I'm doing is probably for not. At least I have a pretty good idea who did the damage. Here, an old guy with a huge Buick has to park next to me. The way the parking spaces are angled, his door is right in line for my right front fender. He put a pretty good size dent in the fender last winter (and a couple smaller ones) so I had to get that popped out over the summer. And after paying to get the dent fixed, he put another one over there. I'm pretty pissed about it, but it looks like he kinda has trouble walking, so I don't want to be too much of an (removed) about it, so I never bothered to bring it up. It only cost $60 to get those dents popped, plus the one that I put on the other side when my moron self leaned up against the fender. So, I'll just have to spend a couple bucks once a year to get the dents removed until I get a house and move away from here.

Friend of mine in Montreal had a brand new red Forester and parked in his basement garage and got three dings from the same car next to him!!!! We're talking beyond a surface level scratch but serious deformation of the door skin. He confronted the guy who admitted to doing it then retracted saying it wasn't him! The body shop wanted $300, we're talking major dents! My friend was stuck because it wasn't enough for small claims court, he couldn't prove the guy did it, he didn't want to claim it on his insurance and he's not got a lot of cash. We touched it up so there wouldn't be rust but it really sucks for him because you can see the dents as shadows clearly in the sunlight. Not as bad as another friend whose ex keyed his car, punctured his tires then wrote in lipstick "you're an ********" but I'll save that for another day. (he deserved it)A

Look up one of those dent repair outfits. They really do work. I had a couple of good door dings fixed on my prior car, could not ever tell they were there.
