That is disgusting. I have no compassion for deer. Around here it is rare to drive at night and not see a deer on the road. One of my best friends almost lost his sight and his career as an airforce pilot hitting a deer. He was saved by his sunglasses. His drivers window was open and the deer jumped into the side of his car. The side mirror exploded in his face. He looked like he was shot in the face by a shotgun. His glasses were covered in deep pit marks from the flying glass. I was right behind him in my truck, doing about 70mph. The deer flew about 20ft up in the air and almost landed on me.

(removed), that is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen!A few years back, my mom was driving us home on the highway in my car and some idiot in a little Sentra or something like that came flying up from behind us in the slow lane on the 3 lane (in each direction) highway. It was late at night. It passed us and as it got a bit ahead, a deer jumped out of the woods to our left, ran across the 3 lanes of oncoming traffic, jumped the jersey barrier, ran into our lanes, and the idiot that was flying in the Sentra nailed it. The deer tore in 2 at it's midsection, both halves flew up in the air in different directions and landed on the side of the road. Blood flew everywhere and some was sprayed on my car. The car that hit the deer had both headlights and the grille blown out, the front bumper half ripped off, hood crumpled, windshield broken, and as we drove past I could hear that the horn was blowing and was stuck. It was as amazing as it was disgusting.

I'm gonna go ahead and hope that the vehicle is totaled. If someone had to drive that again....I dont think you could get rid of the smell....gross!

I would think the cost of cleaning the interior plus repairing it would maybe equal totaling it...or at least I would hope so.

Hoooly Sh****t... I totaled a VW Rabbit when i hit a deer on my way to a morning class at Kent State in 1982. I was going about 70mph and the damage wasn't nearly as bad (bad enough). That guy must have been doin at least 95....

Anybody notice that the airbag didn't deploy? That seems strange.

Maybe the deer didn't hit the sensor that deploys the airbag.

That's what I'm thinking. It was a hell of a hard hit, but it could be that there wasn't enough rapid deceleration of the vehicle to warrant deployment... Those pics were just disturbing... I may have missed it, but what about the driver's condition? There's a hell of a lot of blood there, I hope none of that belonged to the driver.A friend of a friend lost their life due to a collision with a buck. Absolutely a horrible way to go, after he struck the deer, it continued to roll up the hood, came through the windshield... Poor guy ended up with an antler through the chest, hitting his heart.

The people on the board it was posted on said the deer was hit by another car and came flying at the Trailblazer, which I would assume was coming the other way. Some of them also think it's a setup because there's just so much blood and guts all over the car, yet aside from being torn in half, the deer appears to have its guts inside. I'm not sure why somebody would set something like that up though...

Quote, originally posted by furrydogs »Anybody notice that the airbag didn't deploy? That seems strange.Probably because the front bumper is completely untouched. Or if touched not hard enought to crush and looks like the deer body hit the hood first and slid into the car. Bags do not go off for every collision like the sides will not blow unless the vehicle is hit hard enough on the side.

Is that a liver or lung peeking out from under the driverside seat? Any deer hunters around that can let us know. It looks like on of the two.

Looks like a lung... but I'm no deer hunter or vet. still gross. And yeah since it looks like the deer hit the upper part of the car, thats why no deployment of the airbags. Imagine that though, the bag exploding blood all over you even more?

i'm wondering if half the deer went flying thru the car and ended up in the cargo area... there seems to be a good amount of guts left over back there
