I am now an owner of a 2005 Neptune 5 speed manual Vibe...no extras (except the Monotone deal) but it was a great price and I love it. Actually didn't want the power package due to the car I traded in (2000 Hyundai Elantra) had 3 of the 4 window motors broken so the windows were taped up. lol Don't want to deal with power windows. Plus the price was what I was looking for and can't expect too much extra for the price. After trade in, taxes, and $600 payoff on the Elantra it was $16,700...Funny thing is my husband really wanted a 5 speed but I had never driven one in my life...so since this would primarily be my car for me and to take the baby around I learned real quick last night. Finally have the hang of it as of today. Plus the auto transmission ones they had on the lot were at least $2000 more. Oh and we wanted the Neptune color and it was the only one they had.Anyway, all this to say I am happy to have one of these vehicles and look forward to many years to come driving it!

Welcome to the Encyclopedia of Vibe, Leadfoot!Congrats on the new 'baby' in the family! As you can probably tell from many 'new member' threads, we of the GenVibe community love it if you post pictures! You'll quickly get the hang of the 5-speed: it only takes a few panicked moments to learn how to drive a stick. One key is to give it plenty of gas as you accelerate from a dead stop until you learn the smooth coordination of gas and clutch. The other is to remember to brake AND disengage the clutch as you roll up to stop signs and traffic lights.I learned to drive a stick on the day I drove my new car home in urban area rush-hour traffic some 30 years ago! Only killed the engine once on the way home. LOL

Welcome Leadfoot!First time I drove a stick was in a 21 ft U-haul. Had to drive it about 100 miles thorugh LA stop and go traffic. I knew how to drive stick after that!I'd love to have a stick Vibe (or anything stick), but since my wife and kids don't drive anything but a automatic, i've been outvoted. The control you get with a stick is the best, esp in snow. Enjoy your new neptune!john
