how dirty is your Vibe?

I was going to grap a pic of my new white Vibe...err salty-white Vibe. Actually it's a Shadow Vibe in a rather Salty coat! But I couldn't take it any longer, so in the warm 37 degree weather I washed it off at 6:00 this evening. I figure after small snow storms and the tons of salt that they put down on the streets I owd it to my car to clean it off, even if it stays that way for only a couple of days. I'd rather not let the gunk build too much.

Yeah. I washed my ride today as well, but it's quite dirty again, so, I may just have to wash it again. O well. My ride was so dirty that my OE wheels looked like they were powder coated gunmetal! God, it was terrible. O well. It's somewhat clean now. So, yeah.Inder

Mine is usually dirty. As soon as I clean it it seems to get instantaneously dirty again! Oh well, every now and again I treat it to a good wash inside and out. Sometimes I am just ashamed to drive it!

I drive for an hour on the highway every day and it hardly seems worth washing it.Despite that I usually give it a good clean every couple of months or so!

I had mine washed and cleaned inside and out the other day, was clean on the way home, but some dude in a truck thought it would be cool to drive partly on the shoulder of the road on the way home slinging slush all over my clean car. (removed) lol... I did a blow by on him for that.

two or three weeks is as long as I'll go between washings during the winter months, it's once a week during the summer for me.

My vibe is squeaky clean. I had it detailed inside and out on Friday December 17th. Luckily, while my mom was in the hospital, I've had her car to drive to the train on yucky days, so my vibe has stayed nice and clean, sittin in my garage. I have not driven it on any snow/rain days.

It's getting washed on Saturday (It REALLY needs it), and getting raced on Sunday.

I think my car used to be blue... Now it's this poopy brown color! It's as dirty now as it has been in quite some time, you can barely read the license plate due to all of the crap all over the plate cover. And the back window is only transparent where the rear wiper wipes... And looking up, you see muddy cat paw prints on the moonroof where the folks' cat was out climbing on my car... sheesh...She'll get washed this weekend, I think... Or maybe not, it looks kinda cool in turd brown! lol

Poopy brown?!?! Are you drivin' my car? It's been about six weeks since my poor baby got a bath. It's been rainy on and off here, so there's no point. Perhaps before I go back to work next semester he'll get washed...

Ours is in the back yard under a tarp for a month now all stripped down impatiently waiting the arival of the new parts. I just don't know how long I can take it. It is too much fun to drive to just let it sit under the tarp. Can't drive it without fenders. I just hope everyone is worth it!!! HA HA HA!!!

Wow! Thank God mine has never looked THAT bad! I thought it was bad now, but it is nothing compared to that! Sure glad we don't have to deal with snow, ice, salt, and all that down here in San Diego or even in Dallas where I'm from.

I am such a horrible person when it comes to cleaning my cars. I hate doing it. I hate washing, I hate scraping bird poop and I hate waxing. I don't mind vacuuming much but I still don't do it that often. Heh. I still don't have any pics yet but just cleared off the digital camera so maybe soon. Nothing special about my car though.

Mine isn't that bad....but it is bad enough right now to make me cringe. I usually wash/wax both cars once a month....and it has been 2 because the weather has not been cooperating.

Oh, don't get me started ! It pains me to see by Vibe in its current condition. It's a Neptune blue Vibe that looks like a two tone white/brown Vibe due to all the DAMN SALT they use in this area. I commute 45 miles each way, mostly highway. Haven't been able to clean in due to the cold weather.. I'll have to take a pic tomorrow..

At the moment, outside mine looks great. The temperature was around 31 yesterday morning when I got off work, so I decided to take advantage of it. It was pretty dirty, so I ended up washing it twice. I like taking it through the automatics with the blow dryer thingy, and with as dirty as it was, no way it would have come clean. So I pulled it in the bay, washed it off myself giving it a couple good coats of presoak and high pressure wash, rinsed it off, and ran through the automatic. I hate it when it's really dirty, always costs about ten bucks to wash the thing.

Mine is pretty dirty, considering I washed it Sat, but it snowed Sat night here, and they salted. PLUS, I installed my overlays Sat, and I kinda want them to 'cure' a bit before washing it again......anyone with overlays, do you go through an anutomatic wash?

I have some stuff from Grafxwerks... The only overlays per se are the ones for the front and rear Pontiac emblems. Aside from those, I have the flames behind the Vibe emblems in the door, a VVT-i sticker on the hatch, and the Pontiac inlay on the hatch.Every time I wash the car, it is in a touchless automatic. And it gets washed a lot! In the summer, at least once or twice a week, and once every couple weeks in the winter, weather permitting. No problems whatsoever with them being damaged, or peeling off. As long as you had the surfaces good and clean and the overlays adhered properly, you're probably ok. Not sure if an automatic with the brushes would be a good idea though... I avoid those things like the plague.

I have a very interesting story for auto washes. Here it goes:I had a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis. So, this one day, without even thinking, I took into an automatic brush wash ( I usually do manual) . So, I give the guy my money for the wash and here I go. When I got out of the wash, I come outside to dry it off and all I see down the sides of the car are SCRATCHES! The brushes were frozen towards the bottom. So, I go up tot he guy, I'm like, aren't you guys supposed to have heated car washes? He's like, sir, I am not responsible for your damage to your car, it was your decision to take it through there. So, I'm like man, this really sucks a$$. So, I just do this, I go to MAACO and have them give me the cheapest paint job because I was planning on selling the car. So, I took it to them and they charged me $150 for a paint job. My dad knows the manager there. So, it kinda worked in my favor. Anyways, after that I got the Vibe and this car will never see an auto wash.Inder

Those car washes that have brushes are friggin' evil, aren't they? Many of the car washes around here have one touchless, one with the brushes. There will be a line of several cars waiting to get their paint ruined by the automatic with brushes... Yet the touchless is underutilized most of the time. Works out perfect for me, let those guys wait in line and get the crap scratched out of their car, while I pull right into the touchless without waiting.

Finally got mine washed last evening at the do-it-yourself wash. I used $2. to get it wet and sprayed with pre-soak. Then I used a bucket, sponge and warm water from home to wash it thoroughly top to bottom. Another $2. to rinse, clearcoat protect, and spot-free rinse, and I was done!
