Hello all MI and surrounding members. The Autoshow is coming this year on the 15-23. And I was just updating once again about who all is coming now. Let me know. Also, let me know what day exactly to go.Inder

Another MAYBE. It all depends on the weather. We're about a 5 hour drive away in decent weather. I haven't been to the Detroit show since the 1960's when I was about 8 or 9. My wife & son have MLK day (17th) off from school. If the weather is decent, we might come up to see the auto show on Sunday (16th) and stay overnight in the Detroit area. We don't need much of an excuse to visit Tim Hortons!

I'm in - several friends and I are thinking of zipping down that weekend for the show too.Caveat - depends on when I get scheduled to work, so not sure on which dayAs for someone afraid of parking - for the last few years I usually park at the Ren Center right close to the show and have never had a problem at all.

That's fine. So, how many people do have now? Phil who are you bringing with you? Paul? Altus? I will be bringing one person, that is a maybe as well. I don't know yet. But yeah, I think it would safe to say that we should go on that Sunday, most people have the day off that if I'm not mistaken. Paul, I have given you more than a week notice, so, just post it at work. Just thought I would let ya know.

Possibly, but not sure. What kind of area is it in as far as traffic, etc. goes? Any issues with finding a place to park? I'm not used to the big city, so I kinda get freaked out when driving in an extremely populated area... Depends on the weather, and which show I actually decide on attending, if any. Do they let you bring in cameras and stuff to these shows?

Well, if you're worried about driving out here, you can always meet me at my house and I can drive you there. Detroit isn't really a hard place to park, just costs a little bit of loot. Of course you can bring cameras. I'ma bring my digi cam with me. Yeah, just PM me if you're gonna be able to make it.Inder

I'll really try to make the 16th guys, you had any time to meet up in mind? Still working on coming down to the show with some other people, you know a car load across or something. But I know I don't have to work or have any other plans.

We can try to meet up at like 11:30. Some around the lines of that. Hopefully it won't be too cold. But yeah, I think that 11:30-12 should be fine because I know some of you guys are coming across the border. Don't want you guys to fall asleep while on the way if you guys wake up too early. So, yeah, I think that this time should be fine . Unless anyone has another suggestion. I'm always up for suggestions.Inder

But by the time I get across the border and park, then walk to the show and get in, we'll see. I saw GTX yesterday near my house speaking of turn on Vibes. He's the one with the red mono tone with springs gunmetal wheels and the big ski racks? turned into apartment complex and I folowed when the light changed but couldnt find him ANYWHERE lol. Like he drove into teh river or something.

Ok well another friend of mine will be there though he doesn't know when he'll be there, only that he is going and he is going with a group of his friends. So I got his cell number and maybe will give him a shout sometime in the afternoon to see what part of the building he is in if I don't bump into him first lol.

Well, today be the day of going to the NAIAS. And I shall take plenty of pictures. . Any other quick requests for pictures?Inder

Well it was a pretty awsome show. A little to crowded for my tastes but what can you do right? Waited for those good shots, had to just give up on some though cause you couldn't get near the car. I wanted to sit in a few to but the crowds took forever. The Mazda 3 hatch was really nice... hmmm... Still my Vibe though lol.Oh a bad note... got home to find Lee's car parked in and the roomies didn't leave the keys. Well 10pm rolls around, he has to get going so we got the truck to roll down the driveway out into the street, he drove out and we pushed the truck back up as far as we could. But with everything so icey, we got it just off the street and that was it. Well the room mates get home and yell at me for 5 mins about leaving it partly on the street and how they pay rent here to and next time my car is in the way they'll just leave it on the street to and blah blah. Well if they had left the keys, knowing full well we'd have to move it, and also knowing that city bylaw states NO vehicle can be parked on the street overnight due to street plowing (not like thats actually done but) which was why Lee's car was in the driveway out of the way. And she carries on about "I really hope you move out soon." and all this crap. Actually I am, mid feb and I already paid the landlord first and last, so I'm paying nothing for feb. Payback is a *****.

...your room mate actually was yelling at you? How old is she and of what relation? I don't think any peers of mine have ever actually yelled at me!!! I would be pissed...ESPECIALLY if she threatened to touch my car I would have her assassinated.

Well I figured I'd wait till morning to find out if it was a mood swing or a serious opinion. Cause she is pregnant after all and unless its sparing in karate, I don't hit girls, even if they are yelling at me.Turns out it was a mood swing, her bf/other room mate informed me this morning they had just gotten back from her mother's house. Apparently her sister was nearly raped by one guy and another guy has been uttering death threats. Cops won't do a thing about it. Guess she was crying upstairs all upset she had yelled at me.But I'm a pretty easy going guy, takes a lot more then the yelling to really get me upset. Usually after about 5 mins I'm good, all better. Service writers would pay to be able to get over stuff like that.

i'm a b*tch... she better hope she's not around when i'm there next month.... pregnant or not, they've been real jerks! (mutters profane words under breath for having to post again)
