Replacing factory speakers question.

Most likely next week I will be replacing my stock door speakers and am a little confused as to what is there. I have the M&T package, so obviously I have the 2 tweeters, but what are the door speakers? I thought they were 6.5's, but then thought I found out they were 5.25's. Maybe the fronts are 5.25 and the backs 6.5? I haven't torn the doors apart to check, nor have I run out to the car to check the manual yet, so yes I am lazy! I saw that Mr Poopypants had replaced his speakers with 6.5 Infinitys. Circuit City's website (just using b/c I remembered they had a way to show what fits) shows all 6.5's to fit with M&T. But I know I saw somewhere else that the speakers were 5.25's. Please help me clarify this before I run out and buy my (most likely) JL door speakers! They were the best I heard of all of the ones they sold at Tweeters to include Polk, MB Quart, and Boston Acoustics!

The stock speakers are 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear. You can fit 6.5" in all doors if going aftermarket. In the rear, simply remove the whole speaker assembly and screw the new speaker directly to the door metal. In the front, you either need to get Toyota speaker spacers (which give an extra 1" of depth), or gut the factory speakers and screw the new ones into the plastic ring left from the factory gutted speakers. JL are definitely great speakers, followed by MB Quart, Polk, and BA. If you have the M&T system though, you're going to want to change out the factory amp, as well, because it's not going to put nearly enough power to those types of aftermarket speakers, especially if you get components for the front.

Thanks! Looks like it will be 6.5"s all the way around!
