I finished up the last of my xmas shopping yesterday. I've never left it that late before. Once I got into Sears I just kind of stood there and looked around at people since I've never been shopping that late before Christmas, I'd never seen what it looks like on the last Saturday before Christmas. What a Zoo!! There were men going around looking at stuff, writing it down on notepads. Couples were picking up small appliances and looking them over, discussing them. There were almost as many staff standing around on the floor as there were customers. Most people though, were wondering around with no clue what to get. Kinda like me. Luckily I had an idea of what I wanted, just wasn't sure Sears had it, yet as I continued to wander around in a daze, I came across exactly what I was looking for!

Not much Christmas in our house, bought for the kids (age 27 & 23) their husbands and the grandkids. Our current kids, the dog & cat get their presents also. Wife and I save our money to take a scuba trip. We have a friend (Ron Lambuth) that was deployed to Iraq this week and would like to ask everyone to say a prayer for all our troops who are away from their families and in harms way this Christmas. We know everyone does not agree with what has happened and what will happen in Iraq, but these brave people are sacrificing immensely for everyone regardless of their feelings on the war. Our son-in-law is in the navy, currently stateside, but awaiting word on his deployment. That would be our Christmas wish. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Thanks everyone!

happy holidays, and a resoundiing AMEN to UWAdventurer's wish.reguardless of how we feel about the war, we need to support the troops! BTW, yesterday i talked with a wife of a trucker who hauls fuel in iraq right now, she told me the he has seen a big change in attitude since the fallusha campaign. he said many iraqi's are fed up with the terrorist attacks, and are looking forward the the elections in january. i truly believe the press shows only the bad, not the good.sorry to get off topic here, merry christmas to all at genvibe!

You think just the guys like the LCBO? I have the second largest one in Ontario beside work... I'm surprised they don't know me by name... ha! Just kidding. I'm not there that often - maybe once per week.

I call it BATHOS: BAll's THeory of Optimal Shopping: Go out after dinner on the 24th. The stores will be near-deserted. Bargains abound. Staff will be cheery and downright unctuous, what with getting off soon and no other business in sight. Choices will be simple because there will be few. What more could you ask?

Merry merry, and happy-happy to all of you! Here in the states, most Walgreens will be open ALL DAY Christmas day! That means we last-minute shoppers (face it men - it's genetic, why should we fight it???) can wait until tomorrow MORNING to shop!LOL
