Ii seem's that montana is very promising car.Ressemble very much at the vibe two-tone. http://www.autosite.com/Previe...6.aspPreviews. Under the 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6’s hood resides a 3.5-liter V6 engine making 200 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque, stout enough for a 3,500-pound tow rating. A four-speed automatic transmission puts the power to the ground through the front wheels or all four. Though Pontiac markets the Montana SV6 as a crossover, its 6.5 inches of ground clearance limits off-road travel to the corn stand on the shoulder of the road. A fast mommy car

What is interesting about it is that Pontiac is almost advertising it as an all new model when in reality it is pretty much the existing Montana with a new engine, revised c and d pillars and a new front end.

The sad thing is we went through many years where GM stopped taking the same identical car and just changed minor things to differentiate Pontiac from Chevy from Olds...But those years are back. There are 4 variations of this menace...or should I say there are 4 modles with hardly any variations...Pontiac SV6:Chevy Uplander:Buick Terrazza:Saturn Relay:GM! PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THE SAME CAR BEING SOLD UNDER 4 BRANDS WITH IDENTICAL APPERANCE!Next thing you know, the Vibe will become the next Buick and Caddy wagons...GRRRRRRRRR

Too bad they killed Olds off, they could have had added yet another identical van to the lineup. I'm all for platform sharing, but it should be used wisely. Make the vehicles look different - like we see with Vibe vs. Matrix. Malibu vs. G6. Grand Prix vs. Impala, etc. Same cars, completely different personalities. When you just start slapping different emblems on the grille and not doing anything dramatic to differentiate the vehicles, that can't be a good thing.

The Buick Terrazza is the only one of that whole line that looks decent in person, the rest are ugly.

I have to disagree with the lot of you. I stopped at my local pontiac dealer because they had the new montana out on their lot. The interior design is 100% better than the outgoing van. I like the exterior style - it is not the same old "bulb" look of the Toyota, Chrysler vans. The nissan has just a weird interior. I'll admit that I have not seen the new Honda, but I've looked at pricing. The GM van (while still on the old platform) is $4,000 less than a comparably equipped van from Honda, Toyota & Nissan. I'll be considering it highly when it comes time to get a new family hauler for my wife.

The SV6 actually makes me appreciate the 2005 Vibe front end look!Maybe THIS is what the designer of the AZTEK is doing now!

I own a 98 Intrigue, and it is a very nice mid-size sedan, with a lot of features for the price.

Every Chevy truck, SUV and van model had a GMC twin, with only the most minor of badging and grille changes to differentiate them. The GMC and Chevy Suburbans even shared the 'Suburban' name! And remember the GMC Caballero? A rebadged Chevy El Camino.I owned a couple of GMC Safari vans, and eventually just started calling them "Astro" vans, because that is what everyone thought they were, anyway.I also owned a Pontiac Sunbird wagon years ago. Nobody knew (or cared) what a 'Sunbird' was, so I just started calling it my Vega wagon.

We like the Chevy/GMC duality, becuase our Chevy dealership sucks and the GMC dealership rocks, so it's nice to be able to get the same vehicle with the different badging to go to a better dealer with better service. Also, if you don't like the interior on the Envoy, they can order one with a Trailblazer interior. Pretty cool, I think. The Envoy and the TB do have quite a few differences, especially on the inside, with the wood grain and chrome inside the Envoy. The chrome is alright but the wood grain is just oooogly.

I got to see one up close the other day at the dealer, very nice car indeed! Was about $28K, loaded up nicely. Well worth a look, I'd say, if someone is interested in a comfy mid-size car...
