Using a reciprocating saw is the easiest way. With a good blade, you'll cut through the pipe in about 8 seconds. The cut is made right at the weld joint before the resonator.

I left my resonator on as I was told that it would reduce the chance of getting the rice sound. Never heard it with out the resonator, but I like the sound with it. They said it would be louder without the resonator, but would give it that sound I didn't want.

Oh, mine was Flowmaster, but they ever said anything about the Magnaflow coming that way regardless. Oh well, just my $.02

I don't know any tool rental places off the top of my head. A fellow Matrix owner provided the reciprocating saw for me.I'm sure you could pick one up at Wally-hood for less than $60 then return it when you're done.

Some farm supply places like Farm & Fleet or whatever they have up there usually have a renatl area. You can also look in the phone book. If you have a friend who does construction, the could probably get you one. Just make sure you have the right type of blade and you're set.dave

Hardware stores will do it too. I know the local Home Depot has an hourly rental thing.

Done. My brother and I installed the Magnaflow with a little help with a Jigsaw and a metal cutting blade . Install went well. Just cut my finger on something, not sure what. But anyways, sounds great . It took my brother about a half an hour to cut the pipe since Home Depot didn't have saws to rent out. O well. What has been done has been done. So, other than that, everything went perfect .Inder
