Installing an amp toggle switch?

I'm hooking up my amp soon, and I want to put a toggle switch on the remote wire. I've seen a few pictures where people put the switch below the mirror controls to the left of the steering wheel. How do I get the wire over there? Where can I buy a switch to fit there? Thanks in advance.

Should be a piece of cake for ya... If you pull straight back on the coin holder on the dash, it should pop right out. Then, you can reach in through that opening and pop out the blanks. You basically have two options: Buy a standard switch which mounts in a round hole and drill through one of the blanks; or you can get a switch that will snap right into place without any drilling or whatever. I chose that route. You should be able to find them at Pep Boys for about $8. IHere's a pic I took earlier in the year:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerofile/4341/switch.jpgI now have two similar switches in place, one for the automatic headlight control disable, the other for my under-dash LED's. I left the coin holder in there to make it easier to pop out the switches if necessary. For routing wiring to and from the switch, easiest way would be to remove the storage compartment on the left. Open it up and squeeze firmly from both sides, lift off. You should then be able to reach up to pull the wires where they need to go for the switch. Hope this helps, good luck to ya.

The problem is getting the wire from the headunit over there. I want to try and doing it without wires being visible.

You should be able to run down from the head unit across the underside of the dash below the steering column, and up to the switch. Plenty of places to hide wiring through there.

doesnt even have to be that hard, i just found some old 1 piece light switch and put it inthe little openeing compartment by the steering wheel, nobody ever sees it, and i use it to avoid the popping sound from the amp when changing inputs.
