The Vibe is gone, Now what???

Well, as some of you may have read in an earlier post, my vibe was in a pretty bad accident and the insurance agent told me today it was mostly likely going to be classified as totaled. So, I am trying to decide what I want to replace the Vibe with. I don't think I want another Vibe. Don't get me wrong, I like the Vibe, but the main reason I bought it was because I got an amazing deal on it. I am looking at either a midsize SUV (used) or a new sporty sedan or a new Small SUV. I would prefer some type of AWD or 4WD and I want to get a fairly loaded vehicle. I have looked at used (2002) explorers and a few hondas so far.Any Suggestions????

My other car is a Scion xB. Not a powerhouse, but a TON of room and it turns heads everywhere I go.

I really liked the Equinox. Unfortunately I rode in on on my wife' cousins test drive AFTER I had already bought the Vibe. Oh well, I love my Vibe!

My price range is about $18000 to $22000, depending on what happens with insurance. I will take a look at the Subaru Legacy (The sedan one). It looks pretty good. I am also looking at a used 3 series or used C class.I like the explorer because of it's size and it's looks. However, I have never been a huge fan of ford quality. I am also a big Honda/Toyota fan, but they don't really offer anything in my price range that appeals to me. The only thing I might look at is a used 4Runner, but for some reason those SUVs are really expensive. I also really want side airbags and side curtains after being t-boned like I was.

Why the issue with the 3.4l that is sourced from China?

Yes, I drove a company Equinox about 1,500 km and I was very impressed by the ride, performance, economy, general fit 'n finish, etc. My only quibble was with the rear seat headrests, which are the size and shape of tombstones and cause big blind spots.

Friends at work have Equinox's or Equinois (I dunno, more then one dammit) and love them. If going GM, better do is soon, they have good deals now and it is getting to be the end of the year.

Hey gonzagavibehad no idea another inland empire vibe owner posted here!if you're looking at any GM or Dodge/Chrysler cars/trucks/suvtake the drive to dave smith motors over in kellogg, they saved me a bunch of green on both my vibes and a neon too. ask for Joe Cote.they sell vehicles for about 250 bucks above dealer cost. They're the largest dodge dealer in the world, and sell a lot of GM too.
