How many miles do you have and still have a bad egg smell??? Has it gotten worse or better over time??? Was told it worse with lower mileage and should go away with time....I do not believe this statement but wanted some validation to my belifes...

It's related to the sulfur content of the fuel and a new catalyst used first in 2003 and newer cars that is less toxic for the assembly-line workers because they removed the nickel.I purchased my vibe with 22,000 on the clock. It still smells, but it seems totally depends upon the brand of gasoline. So, try a different brand of gasoline. It seems to be much worse with some brands than others. Offhand I can't recall which ones don't smell, (I'm thinking Shell) but Speedway brand in my area ALWAYS causes the smell = more sulfur in the gas.

I haven't been having the problem, but for me the side issue would be that if the exhaust smells bad, and you smell it in the car, then doesn't that mean that exhaust is getting in to the car? How is it getting in to the car?

Mine seems to be getting worse; at least I notice it more often.Maybe it's the cold? Anyone notice if temp has anything to do with it?
