Another Michigan winter is on its way, my second in my AWD Vibe. I was unable to find the answer to the following question in the owners manual: Is power normally transmitted to the four wheels continuously? Or is power normally transmittted to the front wheels, until a wheel starts to slip?

Really? Do you have a source for you numbers? (I'm not being snarky ... it's just that they're different than what I was told.)I was told 70% front & 30% rear by the Toyota dealership, and 100% front by the Pontiac dealership. I think the brochure for my car backs up the Pontiac claims.I think the guy at Toyota was smoking crack.

Get to know your car and test it out. Go to a snow covered parking lot, get out and have someone else drive the car making the tires spin. I did this with my first ABS car and my 4x4 Blazer to see and then feel how it would react under certain condidions.

Thanks for your response silveawd. Sounds like all the power goes to the front, unless a wheel starts to slip.
