I know our vibe comes with a factory block heater. So is it automatically turns on when we start the car?

not all vibes come with block heaters. you have to PLUG the car in. it should have a plug in the front of the car by the battery, like an extension cord.see that thing coming out of the hood on the drivers side grill? that's what the plug in looks like.

I guess from 04 on, that is a standard.Anyway, I never checked this yet. But the cord looks bad outside.

really? interesting. it's still an option here. but yes, the cord looked far worse than it does in that pic. i zip tied it so that it came out and layed in place. otherwise, the cord is really long and just flapped around.

So it's standard on all GM in Canada, however, interestingly enough, the Matrix doesn't have one. My sister has a base 03 (i think) and there's def no chord by the battery where i found mine. Bizarre.
