the vibe lost the plastic cover to the back light and a small indent in the 5th door right beside the light cover. but the huge dodge bumbper is usually 2cm away from the car, after the accident it is leanging right up against it in the one corner. i am thinking that there is no way my 5th crappy alimunum (or w.e material is used) could bend that bumper. i am asking for any ideas on how much it would cost to fix the truck, i will fix the vibe myself. thanks.

In my previous car, I hit the back bumper of a Daewoo sedan. It mostly just scratched up, but on one side you could see it had been pushed in and angled down a bit where it met the side quarterpanel. The repair bill was $750 plus rental car.

There's no way to know what kind of damage you did without pictures. As previously said, there could be hidden damage too. I've heard of small hits costing well over $1000...there's just NO way to know.

The bumper brackets/bolts may have slid inside the elongated holes. If so just reallign bumper. Cost for a body shop to do should be less than $50.Hopefully the Dodge hit you in yer bumper sticker. lol

well the problem is that the a-hole wants a new bumper, i found alot of em on ebay for 200USD , which i can do no prob, but i'm not giving him the 2000 hes asking for to get it replaced at the dealer. maybe i can screw em over somehow since he didnt report it and prolly wotn for the next 24 hours, so the 48 hours will run out .

i wanted to screw him over as he was trying to screw me, i got him an invoice from several repair shops and pushed him into a corner. i gave him $500 and he signed for it, problem solved, i knew no matter what i wasnt giving his his 2 grand. But now my prob is that the gm dealer wants $800 to replace the back brake light and straighten out a dent on the 5th door :s . They want $250 for the brake light alone (just the part, no work) . anyone know where i can get a brake light for cheaper ?

hey at least you aren't paying the 2 grand plus the $800. As it is by 'screwing him' as you put it you are saving $700. So I wouldn't complain about the $250 for the light. Bro

At least the guy was willing to not do insurance for you. Doesn't sound like he's a complete *******, he just got his car hit and wants it fixed right. Plus he has to deal with all this crap because someone else hit his car.I guess you could call around to parts dealers for the light at a better price. Shouldn't be too hard to find one for a Dodge Ram.
