Jus wonderin.InderWell, yeah, it would be connected to the car if I was leaving the stock air filter box in. But since I took the stock air filter out and installed a CAI, I do not have to have it connected but should probably have the open valve where this hose originally connected to plugged. That is the reason for the question folks....I need to plug wherever this vacuum hose in the picture connects to. If anyone knows where this vacuum hose connects to, please respons....

Could that hose in the pic above actually be this hose in this picture?

I chopped you pic up a little but here's what you should do:-Remove everything outlined in green. (vsv, 3 hose segments, t-fitting)-attach the hose (circled in red) to the check valve.-connect the hose on the black end of the check valve to the top of the throttle body.-Connect the hose on the white end of the check valve to the vsv under the throttle body.(you may need to flip the check valve to get it right.)here's the final product from my 04 XRS:

mase, so what you are saying is that the blue valve stays connected and runs to the front of the TB where the other hose was pulled from? I believe that it was two hoses that connected to a set of nipples on top of eachother. The bottom one runs to the other side of the motor(maybe) and the top hose is removed, is that where the white end goes or no?

I am not sure where you are talking about here, but I do know there is another VSV, but I thought that already had hoses coming out from it. Isn't the other VSV what I have circled in blue in this newly attached pic?

This is kinda hard to explain but I'll do my best.Everything that I circled in green needs to be completely removed from the picture. Box it up with the stock intake cuz you wont use any of the parts with an aftermarket intake.Look under the the tb, just below the throttle cable spindle. There's a 2-port blue vsv with the top hose running up to the tb, and the bottom hose running to the pressure sensor on the passenger side of the engine. The top hose is what needs to connect to the white end of the check valve (pictured in my first post).-the black end of the check valve then needs to connect to the little nipple on the top of the tb.You can swap out the hose segments if you wish to get the prettiest fit. As long as you have it hooked up that way, you'll be fine.Another note: Since the 04+ 2zz engine uses a new vacuum switching/air recycling system, you will need to allow the air pump to shut off after a cold start before you drive off. The pump will run for only 2 mins max. If you try to drive off before the air pump shuts off, you'll get a P2240 dtc after 4 failures. Another thing to look out for is dtc P2441. This is caused by a reversed check valve. Just make sure it's hooked up as I've described.

I haven't tried what you have told me to do yet, but - - thank you for taking the time to answer this! I am hoping what you have detailed here will help...and yes, I AM throwing up a CEL. Very annoying. Everything runs and sounds fantastic, but after starting the car for the 3rd driving cycle, I get the CEL like clockwork about 10 minutes after starting the car.

Well, what you said and described worked like a charm, Mase. Funny how all of the online instructions in this forum and elsewhere fail to mention those key details. Anyway, I am now completely and 100 happy with my Bomz short ram CAI. This only cost around $60, looks awesome, gave my car a boost and sounds even better. I compared the cone filter to a K&N this weekend and it was an exact replica.I hate to say it, but I don't see a reason to spend $180, $200, $250 for an injen, K&N or the other brands when the Bomz is just as good. But that is just me, and when we are all said and done, as long as you are happy with your purchase, that's all that matters. Thanks again, Mase!
