Hello everyone - I recently purchased a Bomz Racing short-ram off of ebay for like $65. The directions were crap, but with help from this forum and a couple of back-and-forth e-mails, I had a successful install. One thing I took away is that it is actually a lot easier than you think...I was overthinking and that is what caused me problems.Anyway - the question is this...do all cone filters that come with short ram kits need to be oiled just like a K&N needs to? Here is a picture of the filter http://www.bomzracing.com/inde...D=682...should I be oiling this as you would a K&N? I will probably just buy a K&N filter shortly, but would like to know if, for now, this filter that comes with this kit should be oiled....

I would think that would be the case. I would check up on that though. I know my Injen does have to be oiled.

Actually, if it is a reusable filter it has to be oiled. If it is a disposable filter, than no, you don't have to oil it.

In order for the filter to work properly it needs to be oiled at least thats what a K&N filter needs to work properly so I guess all filters must be same.

Typically, gauze (e.g. K&N) and foam filters need to be oiled. Paper doesn't/shouldn't be.
