well for all the yanks that went to the toronto meet. i got the bill from that 407 etr.its 16 bucks canadian. shoud i pay it or just let the mounties come and get me !?! i'll probably pay it but the actual toll was only 8 bucks and 8 bucks for the video toll. thats queen elizabeth way robbery.

From what I have heard, the private company that owns the 407 has no juristriction outside of Ontario to make people pay. In fact the company is in conflict with the Ontario gov't about rising toll rates, so the gov't no longer refuse to renew your car licenses if you have outstanding toll charges. Can someone else in the Toronto Area back me us on this?So you can likely trash the bill.

all I can say is haha told you so and wonder if Nick and Mike got their bills yet. As far as how binding the ticket is for outside of Canada residents... no idea. I stay off the 407 but know it is pretty binding for canadians, we have to pay it.

they are a company. like any company, if you use their service, you have to pay (regardless of country). If you don't then they send your file on to collection agencies. They are a large conglomerate that is actually based out of Spain and own many transportation roads(tollways) around the world. I think they're linked enough that they have collection agencies in the US. They have your license plate number and they were able to mail you a bill which means they are linked with your local government.i wouldn't mess around with my credit history that way....but that's just me.

Wow! to this day (and I travel often to TO and have used that highway) I have never received a bill......

OK and I have heard it many times but never knew exactly what, where it came from. I deal with Chrysler Canada and did not want to mention it ever if it was out of line. Not that I would anyway since it is business and all. I am more into motor sports and not hockey, so it never dawned on me. Thanks for the canuck 101!

yeah there is a knock on his door which opens to show a horse standing right in his door way with the mountie on top. "Pardon me eh? But were you not on the 407 in Ontario on said date?" and as he thinks about it, the horse snorts in his face haha.

Actually, having worked for the 407ETR, they do have the ability to come after you. They may not be able to do the majority of the stuff they can do here, but they will have a collector call you and apparently in some States will mess with your credit and stop you from renewing your license until the bill has been paid.

i didnt want to mess up my credit or nothin' so i paid it. but i will get my revenge.with a photo blocker liscense cover.
