We Need More Ottawa/Valley Area Members!!!

Hello folks! I live in Eganville, close to Pembroke in the beautiful Ottawa Valley! Today before work I drove around Pembroke for awhile showing off my Vibe, and I noticed approx. 8 new Vibes in the area. I'm hoping that when I see these owners, I can convince them to check out genvibe. I ordered some genvibe graphics for my car, so hopefully people will notice them. This website blows me away with the information I get. If we can muster up more people, I think this area deserves a Vibe/Matrix Meet! Let me know what you think, and how can we get more Ottawa/Valley Area people to join?

I've mentioned having an "eastern Ontario" meet before but got no response. I was thinking all the way from Kingston to Ottawa (Kingston being my hometown, Ottawa my current town).

Hey, Sputnik! I too was born in Kingston and grew up in the south end of Ottawa (although a 'little' before your time; I saw the original Sputnik in orbit five years after I moved there...)

Cool! I was born in Kingston, lived just north of the city for 22 years, then moved to Ottawa in '99. I love seeing people on here with a Kingston connection. I'm going to move back there someday...

How far north, Sputnik? We had a cottage on Loughborough Lake, near Inverary. Many nights my buddy and I raced our Moms' VW Beetles out Division St. At first there was like 3 corners we had to lift for (top speed on the level for a late fifties VW was ~72 MPH), then we got it down to 2, then 1 and eventually we got brave (or stupid) enough to run flat out all the way...

I haven't been to that area in a while, guess though the weather isn't going to be the best for driving any distance anymore this year. Should have been a MTL/Ottawa meet this summer, I would have gone.

About the same distance north as your cottage. Actually a teensy bit further on a lake north of Loughborough. Have many good friends in Inverary and on Loughborough!

I've thought, "hey, there's a lot of Vibes in YOW" but can't figure out who's registered with GenVibe. So I'm thinking we can all print off a little card with "Thinking of you, come join us http://www.genvibe.com" type of message and leave it on their windsheild.

Good idea Zig! I haven't been able to track down any Vibe owners yet. I'll defintely say something to them if I see them at the mall, etc. I've mentioned the site to my salesman at the dealership, so maybe I could somehow get them to mention the site to new Vibe owners too. The "Civic Nation" is pretty big here in the Valley, I'm hoping we cold give them a "run for their money" someday! lol. Any specific ideas of a card, or just a generic one with your saying on them?

Hey guys, I'm near Carp (although my taxes go to Ottawa) and I'm new to the site and got a dark grey base model 04 (aluminum wheels). I've got lots of plans for my Vibe such as CAI and headers and smaller projects such as a manual bypass for the clutch starter kill switch and modifying the wheel wells to prevent corrosion (more later). I'm putting the snows on this week as well as mud flaps.Looking forward to seing more post and sharing Vibe info and tricks.A
