I think the subject line says it all, but here's the explaination, no less.I've had to sell the Vibe. Those who have been here a while know of my financial stuggles since my layoff and things have finally gotten to the point I had to do something.I sold my Vibe.Saddest day of my life, yes but I feel its replacement is worthy.I'll be staying around as long as I'm welcome, I could never leave my friends here.

Thanks everyone. I'll still stay here, of course (as a mod if they let me).I purchased a 2004 Sebring as a replacement. It was a program car so it was really cheap, in great shape and what can I say, I really liked it.I'm not a real Chrysler person, but in my price range, it was the only way to get a car that could compare in comfort to the Vibe.I'll post some photos when I get a chance to take some.

I've been Vibeless for a few months, and I still hang around. Some good people here.A 2004 Sebring?!?! Coupe or Sedan? Either one......nice car. If it's the coupe, it's based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse. My wife has an 01 Dodge Stratus R/T coupe. (Stratus/Sebring basically same car) I love driving her car.

It's the sedan. It's just an LX 4Cyl, but it's surprising how nice it still is.

Tough luck on having to sell the car. I hope you stay an active moderator here. The friendships you've grown here are much more valuable than something as trivial as what kind of car you drive .

My sentiments exactly, Joatmon. I still love the Vibe and will probably own one again once I get everything else straightened out. I can only hope the Sebring will be as reliable and enjoyable as my Vibe was.As per Silver's earlier question, I do have an intake I'll be selling soon if anyone is interested. I'll post it in the "For Sale" section once I'm ready.

Yeah, I think it will pass. So far, the Sebring is enjoyable. A little sloppy compared to the Vibe, but impressively refined for a domestic. Definitely a touch of Mercedes in these newer Chryslers. Wicked, that's good to hear. I'm hoping this car will be reliable transportation. I was a little scared of a Chrysler given some bad past experiences, but for my pricerange, a Chrysler had the most refinement I had found.

Not bad!Must be weird, though, going from a "compact" car to a full size sedan.

Yeah. It's a little weird. I've never had anything but compacts. This is a considerably larger vehicle. So far, I'm not hating it. I'll certainly enjoy it more once I see my bank account growing again.

Sorry to hear... Things will get better. The Sebring is a pretty reliable car and inexpensive like you said. Chrysler sells a lot of them for fleets and that engine has been around for years. You have the 7/70 warranty too.

I'm really sorry to hear about this Millster. I know how much you loved your Vibe. I'm glad things worked out for you to get a nice car as a replacement. And you know that you are always welcome here. Hopefully things will improve for you and you can get a brand new Vibe again soon.

Sometimes it's the best way to get a used car, but you have to be careful to look for abuse. This one seems to have been very gently run.The sad part is, I don't believe I have the 7/70. Just the balance of a 3/36 (at least according to the dealer I bought it from). Thanks again everyone for the support. It was a tough decision to make, but knowing that I've not been cast out by my fellow Vibe fans helps a lot!

This one seems to have been very gently run.If the car hasn't been severely battered by the former renters, they are usually a pretty safe deal. I like the idea, letting someone else get screwed since they are the ones to take a hit for the massive depreciation that occurs within the first year, not you. Back in '96, I bought a '95 Corsica at a Chevy dealer to have a cheap commute-to-college car... The dealer called it a "program car" but later I found it actually came from a rental car company in Vegas. So, I've had a rental too, and it was actually a pretty good car. Well, about as good as a Corsica could get which isn't saying much. lol By 1999, it had 150,000 miles on it. Others I've known with ex-rental cars have also had pretty good luck with them as well. I carpool with the boss who occasionally drives his wife's '04 Stratus, has about 30K on it. I'm not a fan of Chrysler products, but it's a pretty nice car! Rides smooth, the engine is quiet, a decent amount of room and hell, I'll be the first to admit that car has significantly fewer rattles than the Toyota in Pontiac's clothing that I drive. Seems to be built pretty well. The car was a rental in its previous life as well, actually - cost around $12K. Only thing I don't like about the car is the way the radio sounds. So, I'd say your decision wasn't bad! Sometimes we just gotta do what we gotta do, and make a sacrifice...Hate to hear you weren't able to keep the Vibe. But it's good that you're in a car that you can at least tolerate, would be really bad if you had to get rid of a car you loved in place of a car you loathe.

Sorry to hear about this millster, that must really suck to have this all happen. I'd hate to have to part with my Vibe GT too. But like the others have said, at least you've got a decent replacement! I'm no Chrysler fan, but that car looks nice! I'm particularly impressed by the interior design, it looks pretty comfy. I've been nosing around for a used second car, I might have to check out the prices and availability of those. Please do stick around, even if you are now Vibeless, you're still among friends.
