Rear Crash Data

There's lot's of info on frontal crash, off center or side impact data. Are there any info on rear crash data?Take a minivan for example. It offers good front crash protection, but I can't imagine it being very good from the rear, especially for the last row. I was in such position (last row in a minivan), and the bumper of the car that hit us was 8 inches away from me. This was normal city speed ~ maybe 25-30mph.

Most accidents I seen on the hwy are front to rear. So I find it hard to believe no one (gov) have ask that question. I would think it would be very important. That's how they found out about the Ford Pinto.
