Well... I found a place that can make the custom headers for AWD Matrix/Vibe. However, the guy refuses to make it for me. His reason is that it is illegal because he doesn't do EO or OE number (i think that is the carb number). But I think if we all call in, maybe they'll change their mind. The contact info:Sanderson Headers517 Railroad Ave.S. San Francisco, CA 94080(650) 583 4590

YESSS!!!!! What is the difference? The AWD pores are smaller and the headers setup is different due to the drive shaft down the center.

It may only be illegal in CA due to the emissions laws and smog testing. Maybe he would make them for other states that do not have these laws or testing.

why only AWD? this is the first time the AWD has ever gotten anything specifically for itself!

I would want to see a prototype first and understand the performance numbers gained first. This guy probably does not want to go through all the tooling to make them only to sell a few. Correct me if I am wrong on the tooling issue. Either way, for one custom header it probably will be high. Price will go down if made in quantities...OE number? I do not understand this. OE in my world is Original Equipment. And in custom work, what is the illegal repercusions? Custom means all rules are voided since he is now standing behind it.

Why? Because our cars have less horsepower than any other model out there. We need all the help we can get!

yep, we got the short end of the stick. No exhaust, no headers, no rear disc brakes, only autos, etc. Sounds bad, but I would not want to drive the manual front wheel drive in 4-6 inches of snowy slop.

The AWD header IS different than the 2WD header. The 4WD header is directly attatched to the first catalytic converter while the 2WD header is attached to a downpipe which then connects to the first cat.EO numbers, from what I understand, are only applicable to California's strict emissions regulations. If someone can find a shop out of state who will make the headers, then the EO# shouldn't be a problem.

it really isn't as bad in MI as it is in like Washington. So, we get little bits of snow here and there, but it's always like 15 F. Sux really bad. I'd rather have it like 35 with like a foot of snow. that would be fine with me.Inder
