aww! welcome welcome! always good to have more female members! we're grossly outnumbered and often confused as guys. what kind of vibe do you have? base, awd, or gt? and you can always add a few things to make it faster.

I have the base model..but wished I would of gotten the AWD now...my car sucks in the winter..BAD!!! I would almost rather ride my bike to work than jump in the Vibrator!!! Last winter I had to throw about four huge bags of salt in the back end of the Vibe just to make it home...damn Michigan winters..heh

heh wait till she sees the soob or the audi in the snow, there's nothing 2WD can do... the lack of torque prolly helps taking off from lights though

who bought a vibe because it is really fast?i have the awd, and it rocks in the snow!

i'd like to see an AWD vibe but i'd have to imagine the drivetrain loss makes it even that much more unimpressive

i'm not trying to be a (removed) but do you realize how COOL a matrix/vibe would be if the AWD driveline could be mated to the 2ZZ?

I agree *TOTALLY*, i would not have purchased a WRX at bran new retail price, i bought mine in oct 03 used for 14k with uppipe/downpipe/exhaust/gauges/suspension, put about 1500$ of my own mods on and had it tuned, now it's an animal with a 16k price tag... i can't condone these guys spending 27-28 out the door for new ones and doing eveyrthing i've done though, they've got 35+k into their cars!

Welcome to the club. I hope that your time here is well spent...and as for your boyfriend's obsession with the Vibe's lack of speed. If he wants to fix it, tell him to buy you a faster car! That should shut him up!Added to this comment:Well, considering that your boyfriend is actually posting....how you doin' buddy? Buy her a faster car, pay for her insurance and the upkeep for the faster car. If she likes the Vibe....then she is part of many on this site.

hehe, vibe's not a bad car, i would have rather seen her buy an A4 quattro 5spd, but that was before i knew her... so for now i run mobil1 synthetic in it and keep the matience up, once it croaks some day long from now, she'll upgrade

STOP FIGHTING ON MY NEW GIRL THREAD!!!!!!! GRRRR!!! I love my vibe..hehe...thats all that matters!! Might not be the fastest car on the road..but I drive 100 miles a day to and from work so this car was the most efficient one I could find with gas prices at nearly 2.00/ gallon. Now everyone kiss and make up!!

My brother has a SE-R Spec-V and his car can keep up with a semi modded rex anyday of the week. Especially with the mods you have. That's not that impressive if you ask me. I also have videos and witnesses to prove this. Honestly, a Spec or GT can take the rex out top end. After 110 the rex has nothin!InderO yeah, also, Welcome to GenVibe. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

First off welcome to the club; second, wrx's are sweet. They handle well and they're fast. But they've got nothin on the vibe's interior space. (get the name? "Shaggin wagon?") hehehehe

heh all i know is i trap 103 which is good for 12.9-13.1 in the 1/4 (but i suck at launching so i run 13.5-13.7 with 2.1 60s) and my trap suggests roughly 250whp/320crank, but it still needs like 100 more hp

Welcome to the site! You should be able to enjoy a long stay.Fighting? Where's the fighting? This is quite tame compared to real fighting. But anyway, let's play nice.I do have to add this, though.Quote, originally posted by BoostFrenzy »hehe, vibe's not a bad car, i would have rather seen her buy an A4 quattro 5spdWhy? Don't you like her very much or something? The Audi sucks big time, especially if you're concerned with performance. My g/f's one sister has an '03 Audi A4 quattro, but with the 5 speed automatic with the shiftronic. It sucks. I just drove it yesterday. Allow me to repeat. It sucks. It does cruise nice on the highway though. It's a rather heavy car, much heavier than what they should be putting that 1.8T engine in. Especially with the added weight and power loss from the AWD system. My stock Vibe GT is faster, hands down. And I get far better gas mileage. Also, I think that a $30K "luxury" car should not have leather seats that feel like plastic. Oh, and don't try to use the windshield washers in the wintertime. If you have ice on the front bumper, the squirters that automatically pop up out of the front bumper to spray the headlights will crack and fall off. Then you have a nice hole in the front bumper of your brand new "luxury" car. I've already seen that happen to her car twice. Save yourself the money and buy a Passat. It's the same crappy car anyway.

Not worth whatever you pay for it.Inder

Quote, originally posted by TRD4reel »There are 3 reasons I would never ever buy an Audi. I'm not saying that I would never buy an Audi. There's a chance that they might improve in future years. The top-end Audi models are pretty sweet, I've got to admit. I wouldn't complain about owning one of them. But then again, there are other cars that I would blow $100K on before even a top-end Audi.Quote, originally posted by TRD4reel »1. Unreliable, you'd be better off leasing one.Not unless you got a really good lease deal. From what I've seen around here, resale value on a lower end model Audi isn't anything to write home about. Leasing works best with cars that have high value retention. When you lease, you are paying for all the expenses related to owning that car for the period that you lease it. The greatest share of those expenses is depreciation. The less that a given model depreciates, the lower the lease payments should be.If you compare the monthly lease payments on a Toyota Camry and say, an Audi A4 with the same sticker price (and for the same length of time), the Camry should be cheaper to lease because it will retain more of it's value by the end of the lease. As for Audi's being overweight (especially for the engine choices) and being overpriced for what you get, well I have no defense for those. I must agree with you there.

Hi, welcome to reality... germany puts out the ABSOLUTE finest vehicles that have EVER seen a public or private roadway, they come at a HIGH price premium but in the end you're left owning something that not only shows ROBUST strength & reliability, but you don't look like white trash pullin up in a vibe either... (removed) are you guys thinking, even a "lowend" A4 quattro is LIGHT YEARS ahead of anything that's made on japanese or american shores and i hang my head low i could only afford a wrx and not an audi s4recap: if it's made in germany it's the finest thing humans have seen, go drive one and read something, who else has a 27 stage paint & body package from the factory?bleh
