When is a Deal Not A Deal?

Post by jake75 »

FYI - Ohio Dealer Website:"$3,000 OFF ALL 2004 VIBES! $3,000 off; $1,000 additional off if you own or lease a non-GM vehicle (no trade required)"I think $2,000 of that $3,000 is a rebate, so the discount is only $1,000. Another local dealer has been advertising $500 under invoice on all 04 and 05 Vibes. The conquest rebate is interesting. Wonder if it is limited to the 04's. Also - website had the 72 month 0% deal onthe 04 Vibes but I suspect that si in lieu of the $2,000 rebate. Only a handful if 04's on their lot anyway. All have moonroofs, as do 90% of the o5's. Guess I am in the minority in not wanting to pay $1,000 bucks for a hole in my roof.

Honestly, In a way, I regret getting the Moons and Tunes package. The only reason is that because I have to get the upgraded sound system if I wanted the Moonroof. So to make my mama happy, I got the moons and tunes package. It's like 50% hers too so she gets a say in what's going on with it until next year when she gets herself a van. Inder

InderPerhaps the upgraded sound system is worth it - but my take was that (1) the regular sound system in the Vibe is pretty darn good, and (2) the Vibe is kind of noisy anyway so a super sound system sort of goes to waste.

My wife also reminds me that at nearly 62 my hearing is not what is used to be so that perhaps is also a factor. I think she is saying that a super sound system would be as wasted on me as a Playboy playmate.

I purchased a 2005 Vibe 2 weeks ago (mid sept.) and was able to receive the conquest rebate of $1000 for my ford.
