XM Satellite radio upgrading

I have the Moons and Tunes package with the 6 speaker single disc CD player. Is there any way to upgrade that system to XM satellite radio with just an XM tuner and antennae or do I have to purchase a whole new XM ready receiver. I don't want a separate system like the Roadie, which I had before. I want this all built in and invisible. Also, if I have to go with the new tuner, do you have a recommendation.

If you don't get XM from the factory, you can't add it afterwards.I personally recommend swapping the HU and going aftermarket...

In theory they're making a GM Direct plug for the XM Direct, but, it's $300. And we don't know if it'll actually work or not.Otherwise, yes. You'd need to get a new unit.

As I said..nobody's quite sure if it'll work or not. They haven't released any specifications to which models it will, and won't work with. If you had XM as a factory option on your model year, I would hazard to say it would work, but 2003's might be out of luck.Gotta wait a couple of months for them to be released to know for sure.

Any more info on the XM direct? I can't seem to find a thing about it. Please let me know. Time is fast approaching and I would think there would be some info out there. Thanks
