$3.87 at Sam's Club today after a whopping 5 cent discount! Got a cheapie 10 week membership so I thought I would try them out. BTW if you get your groceries at Kroger, they're rolling out a program where you can get $1 off a gallon! But you have to spend $1,000 a month "qualified purchases" get it!

I paid $3.87/G on Friday, but that was at Safeway w/their discount card. Normally my wife fuels up at Chevron, which is running $3.95/G.Also, a while back I posted about my poor mpg on our '05 AWD w/60K miles. Well, I replaced the plugs (found two of the OEMs gapped out of spec), cleaned the MAF and pumped up the new tires (Yokohama Avid Envigors) 3lbs all around. Results? Last tank with the same commute and gas (Safeway) came out at 28.9 mpg, which is great for an AWD and about 4mpg greater than before.

Chafeway has GAS?!?! Holy smokes...don't give them any ideas...if they had it here it would be like $6.00/gal. (but still cheaper than a gallon of milk)

Yeah, all Safeways save the smallest stores have gas stations (same goes for Albertsons, Fred Meyers, Costco, etc.). That said, I'm a little leery of buying no-name gas; it's probably paranoia, but I like to stick w/Top Tier fuel (if only to avoid having to buy a bottle of Techron or similar every oil change).

I agree with you there, Bro. You may be buying top-tier at one of those pumps, but since the leftovers are brokered out and sold to whomever you just never know for sure. The Shell I shop at is down to $3.50/gal.

Most of the "no-name" gas stations are the same gas you would get from a Shell or Chevron. I usually get gas from Costco or King Soopers. King Soopers here gets their gas from Shell.

My mom said she paid $3.87 recently (she lives fairly nearby me, still in the inner 'burbs)... well, actually, she said she paid $2.87 and I said "You did NOT!" and she corrected herself. Nearly gave me a (good) heart attack.

There's an abandoned gas station along route 611 in Warrington that still has old signs up from when gas was $1.38 a gallon. Every so often when I drive by I do a double take when I see it.Today I fueled up at the local Wawa for $3.62...which is pretty decent in this area. Gas prices tend to be lower near work than near my home for some reason.

$3.59 at 7-11. When we went to the Carlsbad Caverns, the station right outside the park was $4.79! We filled up at the one that was about a mile away from that station for at least a dollar cheaper.

I'd rather pay a bit more for gas and be located in a safer climate like where you are at.Yesterday a Marathon station (headquartered in Findlay Ohio) was down to 3.04 cash

Yeah, we went up a .06 here too, sure Obama gave us his famous HOPE when he took some outta reserve, looks like he's taking it back.

Given how much fuel this country burns in one single day, you sure you want to blame Obama for pulling the plug. What's worse is that Americans are so short-sighted (re: stupid. Yeah, I said it) about it, that as soon as costs go down they begin to relive old habits and begin to buy more Suburbans and Excursions again. After being on this planet for over half a century now, I have come to one conclusion for sure: People, Americans especially, do not learn from their mistakes nor from the mistakes of their ancestors... and it seems to be getting worse, not better.

I'm not blaming Obama for the overall price hike, I'm blaming him for the false hope. Took a few barrels out of reserve to lower the gas price, but I hope we all knew it was just temporary, we would have to go back to the way it was before, and that includes continuing the climb with fuel prices. if the blame goes anywhere, Id like to have a go at those fat cats at the oil companies with billion dollar pensions! Myself, I'm still glad to save money with my vibe, I sold my SUV and banned the deceptiford from any out of town except for hunting trips for a reason: I enjoy saving money. And the less the gas price, with my reasonable new accommodations, the more I will save. I don't kid myself into thinking I will ever see less than 3 per gallon in our neck of the woods...
