I'm very happy. I gave up a 2000 Jetta TDI for this Vibe, and I knew I would not get as good mileage. So, I've been driving like a grandma. Shifting max 2500 rpm, cruise when I can, no AC use, top speed max 110kph on the highway. I track mileage closely, I'll post every tank.

05 base, first 2 tanks 30 & 34 mpg. 80 mile RT commute mostly freeway with some stop & go. Pretty happy so far. Will inflate tires to 38 & see if it improves a bit.
Edit 10-22-14 third tank 26.5! This was working at it though, trying to keep below 60. Filled up at 375 miles, could have easily made 400. I drive 400 miles/week just commuting, so the $$ savings adds up. Still have not yet increased the tire pressure.

You're not far off!

.... The quad gets around 23mpg in the snow.

It's been a long and harsh winter, with my numbers ranging from 26-28mpg. But they must have put the regular gas in this fillup because my MPG gauge is reading a 10% improvement in fuel economy, equating to about 30mpg on the gauge, and FAR more miles read per fuel gauge tick.

I checked it once during my roadtrip (pulling a trailer): roughly 19 mpg.

Filled up today and I'm pretty surprised. Usually I'm all city, but I took a trip so my tank was 63% city and 37% highway. I got 25.8 MPG and I drive this thing a bit peppier than I did with my Firebird or Jimmy.

If you're talking about a 2nd gen (2009-2010) AWD, I'd say a good estimate with 90% highway would be 27ish MPG. I know I've gotten as high as 34 MPG with 100% highway in my 2009 Vibe GT which has the same engine and automatic transmission (though the GT has a 5-speed auto and the AWD has a 4-speed auto). Obviously, the numbers will be slightly less since the AWD has the extra weight of the rear differential. Your mileage will also depend a lot on how you drive. I keep my RPMs under 3000 when accelerating. Make sure tires are properly inflated. Make sure routine maintenance (i.e. oil change, etc.) is done on time. Keep any unnecessary weight out of the vehicle. Try to coast to a stop whenever possible (and safe) to do so instead of braking. These little changes to your driving habits can have a pretty significant impact on gas mileage numbers.

In New Mexico, I was getting 33 or so in the Vibe. I managed 30ish in the 1985 Tercel even though I have never driven manual. I could not safely drive the Tercel over 65 mph due to blown rear shocks, wimpy engine, extreme rear camber (due to the shocks still), and crosswinds.

Now that I'm back in TX, I'm getting....24 or so MPG. I hate living here now. This is just obscene. This explains why my mileage is so horrible.
