I blew the engine, I can probably find the receit from Bob Cole's Import to prove it if yo'd like. It blew due to my negligence to check the oil.The person said he'd offer 27,000, actually, and I never met the guy. I ended up disregarding that as someone just talking and not backing it up.I went to Bayside Collision today to clear my belongings out of the Vibe before insurance towed it away and got some pictures all around, as soon as I can get those uploaded to my comp, I'll show you proof of that too.Being accused of making up a story of my car being stolen and wrecked.. how crappy is that? -_-

Looks like he messed it up pretty well. Any word from the insurance company on what they will cover? what are you driving in the meantime.?Remember, it's only a thing, which can be replaced.

aww man that car looks terrible, mild compared to the damage I'd do to his face if that was my car he wrecked... still. Looks bad. Did you have a pic of the car from further away so we could see the whole thing? If thats one of the big files, you can e-mail it to me.

This is the furthest away one I got. right now I'm driving my dad's van (Honda Odyssey). They said they wouldn't cover anything extra I put in such as the CAI, exhaust, subs, amps, etc. So today I went down there and removed all of that stuff, even though I don't have much hope for the sound system making it through the wreck : Drunken, I didn't really let it get to me, I just didn't understand why you'd think I'd make up a bad story like that. That'd be like making up a story like my mother was a very hairy, ugly woman with only one arm for no reason

The CD player might be screwed...that kinda jolting might've knocked who-knows-what outta alignment. If your speakers don't have a hole in them, they should also be fine..I'm not loosing track of the larger picture..i'd be in tears if I saw my car like that...but there must be an up side.. Like I said..don't lose hope in your stereo stuff..more than likely, it'll be fine..

Insurance took it, they're slavaging it then scrapping it into junk metal : So far they've figured $11,000 of worth, and there's more (such as from the new engine, etc)The head unit and midsize speakers were sadly left in the car as I ran out of time before they came to pick it up, and didn't have the keys to the head unit anyhow. The amps are actually screwed up Janhtassa, they were ripped from their mounts and thrown to the front of the car. The rca hookups and other pieces are broken/bent way out of shape.

Well doesn't that blow beyond belief. Sorry to here it happened to you man. Never know who to trust these days. Ruining a car you put time and sweat into makes it especially hard I'm sure.I myself find it hard to let anyone drive the vibe. My wife is bad enough, and I don't even let my buddies drive it. Lesson learned when one of them put my S-10 in a ditch several years ago, and tore up the tranny.Sometimes you just have to be the selfish ***hole.

I never made the connection to that previous thread. Did sound kind of strange though, some details not provided, like was the Vibe actually lent to the fiend to go run the errand or did he just take it, stuff like that, but looking at the pix of the damage there's little doubt that the Vibe got messed up. We're all glad nobody got hurt, and hope he's vibing again soon.

anything but the suzuki!!!! it's so ugly! ok, that's my opinion. but i'd say the new vibe. you can prob get a pretty good price on one too right now and it'll come with a warranty! the used acura, if it's gonna be around the same price will all be out of pocket expenses if anything goes wrong with it. or find a new/used vibe... with the factory warranty still in place!

Almost identically so The only difference I can pick up is the rims. The one I got has alloy rims with 10 spokes on them. I don't think "spokes" is the right word, but it gives you the general idea. They sort of resemble the BMW alloy rims.Btw, I'm more than satisfied with this car. I love it, and I love the turbo kicking in. I took a look at the hatch and there's HUGE room for another sound system (Hehehe ). The only defects were a few chips missing from the paint, but a friend of mine's father is the main manager of a body shop, and said I'll be taken care of there. I'll take some pics soon Edit: The car looks like the one in your pic, Joatman, but with these rims. http://www.davidatkinsoncars.c....jpeg

The 9-3's are nice...the first time you hit that turbo it can catch you off-guard.. Only thing I don't like about 'em is the Saab "in reverse to remove key"...no remote start for you!

ya. i'm confused by that statement too. do you mean it must be in reverse to remover the key from the ignition or that the key must be in the car to move it to reverse? or neither?

Re: (trdvibe)

In my dad's 2003 Saab 9-3, the car had to be put into reverse before it would allow you to remove the key from the ignition. Kinda like the shift-lock on automatic transmissions, where you can't remove the key while it's in gear.Or maybe it was just his car...

Re: (Jahntassa)

by Fialchar
It is like that on Saab's, but mine is an automatic so you just move it to the "Lock" position and take it out. On manual tranny's you have to have it in reverse.I figured out what you meant after I had left my house for the day
