One of these days I may have enough free time to make it to a meet. We could all meet in Red Deer, how about a fall blow out in Jasper?

Jackie is going to arrange for a friend of hers to pick them up this week, since the place is not open on the weekend. And the Mike can pick them up from Jackie's friend on Saturday. If they are here...got my fingers crossed!!

Okay, you might need something a little more substantial than that. However, I'm not planning on posting my home address on the internet - there's a lot of Tampa Bay fans and their ilk around!I'll send out an email to the various attendees, so make sure your profile has your correct address. As for the time, I'm pretty flexible that day. I'm open to suggestions!

Okay, I've sent an email to DJ, JC, CC (just in case), VC and SWiRv with my address and directions. If you don't get it for some reason, send me an email at
py3k-jy81@spamex.com and I'll reply with the info.Since there's been no huge outpouring of ideas on a time, I'm going to elect for 1pm, trying to take into account the following factors:1) Cup winning celebrations the night before and the resultant hangovers;2) DJ and SWiRv driving all the way back home before nightfall. However, I'm totally flexible, so state your case if you want a different time.

I can be there around two... keely is it ok if I bring my little doggie? She doesn't shed and it'll give Anais and Quinn something to do. SHe's really small and we can leave her outside. Let me know if that's ok. No biggie if it's not.

Despite the torrential downpour on Sunday everything went pretty smoothly. A big THANK YOU to DJ who did most of the installs (got it down to about 25 minutes on the 3rd CAI). Also thanks to Keely and a dry garage and her hubby for BBQing the burgers. We did some runs down the street and I took the scenic route home . I don't know about the others, but half-way to work this morning, my Check Engine Light came on (doh!). Something must be loose... I'll check the connections later on tonight, otherwise I'll be posting a 'HELP ME' on the Engine Forum.

interesting. swirv, you are the only one w/ an 04 gt right? i was wondering how the cai would do on the 04's since they added that airbox restriction... ? anyone else get a CEL?

I checked the connections and they seem to be OK. I don't have the tools here to open up the fender and check the restrictor unit connections. What's wierd is that right after the install there were no problems at all. I wonder if all the moisture from the rain has anything to do with things? Otherwise the engine runs fine, I still hear the CAI sucking and it makes nice growly sounds . I'm gonna post a question on the Engine Forum.

My only concern would be that the hoses aren't properly connected... If you want I can take a look at it... or I have a friend in Sommerset that is VERY good with cars... you could give him a call and he can take a look at it for you.

We can meet somewhere in the middle and you can see what's going on. I'm closer to Sommerset so that's no problem either. As a 'modification virgin' I'm a little nervous about this stuff

well, like i said previously, since swirv has the 04 gt, and w/ the new airbox thingy (my technical term ), it doesn't surprise me that he's throwing a CEL. but what is surprising is how quickly the CEL came on. i know when mine did, it took about 3 days for it. i'd check all the vacuum hoses, clamps, connections, clean the MAF again, and reset the ECU. good luck!and btw, i never got mine to go off until i installed the unichip. mine kept reading "engine too lean" or too much air (since that's the point of a cai). w/ the unichip, it programmed my ecu so that the extra air was normal.

I didn't get my CEL for 1.5 years and now it has been on for 2.5.... I did run my best time with the CEL on though... hahah

ya, those CEL's are pretty testy. in my tundra, it never went off. so i just took out the bulb so it wasn't on. just annoyed me really. and mike, where are those install pics of this new airbox thingy???

More then likely it is that hose that was just "put into" the airbox Irvin. You might be able to get at it if you take the bottom flap off and look in....otherwise the bumper has to come off again. DOH! I hope this helps.

Guys, I got the CEL fixed. Thanks to Scott S. on the Engine Forum. So far so good, but I've only driven the Vibe once fixing it last night. I'm having fun again. As a reminder to Keely and Carrie, please send in your warranty registration card to Injen within 30 days.

just remember it takes min of 3 drive cycles before you are relatively safe from the CEL. as i told you before, mine didn't come on for about 3 days and 300 miles. i drive A LOT for my job, so i'll cross my fingers for you.

Re: (Keely)

yes, i believe so. from what my mechanic told me about teh CEL and CAI when I had this issue in my Tundra, the vehicle must go thru it's driving cycle a min of 3 times. starting, cycling thru the gears, computer reading all the whatever it reads, etc. after that, if still no CEL, you are probably pretty safe. but if it does come back on, i would recommend going to the dealer, have them see what the code is. if it's engine too lean, then it's nothing. the stock ECU just says there's more air than it's programmed for (which is kinda the whole point of a cai). w/ the new restrictions on the 04 GT, it probably has something to do w/ that is my best theory. i'm no expert, but i have plenty of experience w/ CELs and CAI! LOL. got mine to go off w/ the addition of the unichip.

Bad news... the CEL came back on which would have been the 2nd time I started up the car. I was accelerating in 3rd gear at the time. I'll check the hoses on the smog unit, but I may have to go to the dealership. Hope, what does the unichip do? And is it expensive?Irvin
Re: (SWiRv)

unfortunately it is spendy, but it's a piggy back chip to your stock ecu. since you have a sim set up as me, gt w/ cai, the unichip will add a nice steady low end torque/hp increase of about 15-20%. one of the MO.com guys w/ and xrs who has a cai and exhaust ran some dynos about 215 hp and i think roughly around 155-160 ft/lb torque. i can tell a very very noticeable difference in acceleration and i can FEEL the oomph in when i stomp on the gas. overall, i LOVE my unichip and cai. now i just need an exhaust and get it reprogrammed.

Keely you have a GT as well right? speedy mike maybe didn't do something right or bad batch of injen? Yours an 04 GT or 03 cause many people have a successful 03 GT instal of Injen. Maybe the code is for something else even... Guess we'll see how my AEM one works when it arrives and is installed.

keely has an 03 gt. you shouldn't be throwing a CEL. might just be something came lose or perhaps the vsv valve wasn't capped or... on and on.... but check all your hoses! there are tons and tons of 03 gt/xrs w/ injen intakes w/o having any issues.

We had a bear of a time fitting the CAI in period. Between the headlight casing and the fact it was right up against the body of the car, the pipe didn't align well with the throttle body (hope I've got the right terms here) - it was at an angle. We rechecked the part number a few times just to be sure we had the right one!I haven't had a chance (or the courage) to pop the hood yet - after dinner. I'll see what I can see but whether I can make hide or hair or it is another question.
