No luck at Canadian Tire. They said if the bulb was white or silver grey inside it would indicate a defect but since the element just burnt, no go. I bought a new one to tide me over until I can get a replacement from Sylvania. I put a stock one in side by side with a Silverstar. I could'nt believe how yellow and dull the OEM bulb was.

My drive head light (low beam) just burned out this week...I have those buld for a little more then 1 year and drove for less then 9000 miles since I installed them.I sent an e-mail to Silvania and they refer me to their Canadian Silverstar office.I called them and complain about the short life span of the Silverstar. The lady told me they have a 1 year burn out warranty, but she will send me 1 (bulb, not set) to remplace my burned one...It is better then nothing

Hi MiamiVibe...The $36 or usually $37.95 are for the pair in most places like Wal-Mart. Funny here though, the walmart has the 9003 model Silverstars in their close-out isle for $30.00 for the pair. That puts em closer to the price of the cheaper 4000-4100k bulbs. I may stock-up.Dave

"Oh yeah they run hotter but that doesn't make them burn out sooner though." And had no comment when you told him we knew people who replaced them a lot.Least I'm getting to be a pro swiping out bulbs lol.

(fortunately I bought just the bulbs that day, so the total matched bulbs plus tax) I did verify that the warranty is 12 months from the sale date of the orginals, not another 12 on the replacement. They are definitely getting the heave-ho when they blow once they're out of warranty though. Will go with some high power Phillips or (slight possibility) European Silver Stars. BTW, someone said that the North American SSs are different/worse than European, but I notice mine read "Osram made in Germany"

well i shuld also have my dad look at the wiring for my drivers side. i seem to lose a lot of bulbs there and my lights, both head and fogs are significantly dimmer. if you look at my sig, you can kinda tell that side isnt as bright.

Yes, there could be a bad ground or something. If it was a steady high resistance, it would dim the lights, but the reduced voltage should actually increase bulb life. However, if it was an erratic one, the arcing and voltage spikes could hurt.
