I assumed I had the full-size fuses in my car when I was buying an Add-A-Circuit, I had never even looked at the fuse block before I tore into it... Definitely, you need the AAC for the mini fuse... And like Raging mentioned, the trim should just pull off... Doesn't come off too easily the first time..

They're well worth it! Still wish I could find some outside mirrors that would automatically dim!

The 2005 Vibe has a curtain airbag in the window pillar near the windshield. I don't beleive that running the electrical harness through the pillar is the smarts think to do. I was thinking of connecting the electric to the moon- sun roof electrical module in the roof. Since the moon roof switch is ingnition dependent, I thought that this would work. I would appreciate any comments on this.

I think you're on the right track... I highly recommend NOT messing around too much around the 'A' pillar if you have the side curtain air bags... Tapping into the moonroof controls is doable, many here have done exactly that for wiring up radar detectors and the like. There's probably a how-to around here somewhere about how to do that. Welcome aboard, btw.

I installed mine attaching the ground and the power line to the power moon roof connector. I found the power line with a DC voltmenter and confirmed that it was ingition activated. The entire installation was less than 45 minutes-- I used a pressure connector from Raido Shack.

Where at, I must have missed that. The standard dimming-only mirror when purchased through your typical non-ebayish retailer is still about that price. That's the one I have, and it's same exact the one that started this thread, actually. Bought it off Mike, still going strong. Love that thing, I will not own another vehicle without it!!! I would like to have the compass and map lights especially, since the Vibe's one map light with moon & tunes sucks, but uh, I couldn't ever bring myself to upgrade like Mike did.

I took the power off the moon roof lead. The power is ther except when I open or tilt the roof. the mirror shuts down. Even wwhen the car is running. Not sure what to do about that.

I have a Vibe with a mirror that has built-in reading lights. Would installation be as simple as unplugging the existing leads for the reading lights and plugging those same leads into the new mirror? If so, this would be a the ideal first mod for those of us who are still learning.

Yeah, that would be a much easier install. When you take your existing mirror off, measure each wire against chassis ground. Find the pair of wires that is +12V power in.Then you can just wire from that into your new compass mirror.
