The biggest thing I hauled was a three tier wedding cake ... the Vibe AKA The Cake-mobile

When we moved our daughter (and her Vibe) out to Wisconsin from California we had a concert-size harp (just fits with the front passenger seat folded forward) and lots of her other belongings on the inside and an 8' couch on the roof. Oddly enough, when we stopped at a gas station in Wyoming we met another family with a Vibe who also bought it partly because it will fit a harp inside.BTW, the gas mileage drops significantly when carrying a couch on the roof.

This is great, keep them coming! One big reason why I wanted a Matrix (or a Vibe, although I ended up getting the former) was for the ability to haul things, if need be. I wanted roughly the same amount of space as a small pickup truck, but without the rear wheel drive and with better gas mileage. These cars are amazing!

So far since August the biggest haul included the following.December 12th Jets vs. Buffalo at Giants Stadium. 1.5 hour ride one way (I live in CT). With the following:4 full sized adults1 large1 grill4 bags of food1 folding table (the white ones that fold in half, fit right on the cargo floor perfectly)All of our extra clothing for the game4 folding chairsAnd not even a half a tank of gas was used!And the seats, Awesome!I've also thrown an 8ft' ladder in there with the hatch closed, seats down!

Well...I took these when i helped move a friend from West Palm Beach to Orlando, (about 200 miles) this car has ALOT of room. Also only used less than half a tank of gas one way.P.S. these were taken before the windows were tinted....

One of the key reasons I even considered the Vibe is that it can haul a pinball machine. (yes yes.. they do come apart!)Since we have 3, and only 1 at a time is in the house, it saves rental of a truck to bring them back and forth to storage.And I'm not the only one, the reason I know this is one of the regular posters on the pinball newsgroup loves his vibe.

I helped move my boyfriend, and lets see if I can remember all the stuff... A TV, an office chair, boxes, clothes, a tv stand, a shelf stand, bedding... all at the same time. I'm not sure if I am fortgetting something, but that is pretty impressive! I also moved myself! A bike, bedding, clothes, another shelf system, 2 long rubbermaid boxes, a couple smaller ones, a microwave, and random stuff. I love my car!

I'v efit a full sized hot water heater, in the box! a treadmill, children's furniture, a huge rocking chair, a stove...the list continues

I just bought a new air compressor and a couple 5x8 rugs that were on clearance at Lowe's. Everything fit. I find myself spending more money now. I'm buying things that I would have passed on before because it wouldn't fit in the trunk of my old car, like that air compressor.

I put 24 8' 2'x4"'s in the back with lots of supplies for building also.

One drier still in the box and closed the hatch and still had room for extra more items. I belive the box measured 29"x 34"x 39" (estimated). I wonder what a "vibecamino" would look like? You know a truck version. Photochop that one for kicks....nuvibe

Since i do repair work for a cabinet shop, had all of my supplies in mine. A large tool box filled with supplies, and sprayers, and a cart (kind of like those rubbermaid ones, after i took the wheels off. Put a ladder on the roof, and off i went. Almost missed a stop sign when i got to the casino, and half of the dyes and paints went flying up into the front passenger seat.

Here is a quick picture of me and my dad with my couch.... there was also a chair in there. I wish we had more pics, but this shows how bad it was. I lost almost 10 MPG with the hatch up driving from Daytona beach to N. Carolina.Edit : For those who can't tell, that is the vibe hatch in the top of the pic, that is how far out back it stuck.

Now that's just mean LOL, you are right though, my vibe can't haul right now, it's in a "time out"

Threadsurrection!I saw that one person has put an ATV in the back, but has anyone put a scooter (like a Vespa) inside?

Ok, lets see....In my grandmas Vibe i put 32 bags of landscape pine bark...20, landscaping cement blocks, and some verious other landscaping gear.... all at once.... Drove 5mi back from Home Depot on the bumpstops the WHOLE TIME... I had tire tucked up to the rim....

If you want to talk trailering, i have done A LOT of that with my Subaru (i know it's not a Vibe, but the pics speek for themselves...)My favorite pic of all time.... 28 bales of hay...yard clean-up...Pulled this up out of our field, just to show dad we didn't need his truck...Yeah, and i backed it in to.... Sorry, hijack off.....

Driving with your wheel tucked that much, be careful of the axle on bumps, when I worked at the Depot we used to make people sign waves when they loaded up their Ford Ranger with half a pallet of 80lb. cement bags. I didn't want to get the call when their suspension failed and the axle broke in half.As far as the Subie, nice lil 2.5RS is what I see. Must be fun to cruise around the lawn in the winter with that.

Yeah, i can go just about anywhere i want... "The Beauty of AWD" as the comercial goes... And believe me, i've gone some interesting places, sometimes NOT wanting to... Like last year, middle of winter, turned down a side road, that was slightly uphill, looked fine, till i got just over the hill, by that time to late, the next 3/4" mile was about 100- 2.5-3' deep snow drifts.... We made it.... lots of snow comming over the hood, spent some time in a shallow ditch, but the car NEVER stopped..!!!

Awesome!I still have yet to get stuck with the AWD Trix, and I have tried. Of course its not full time like the Subie or as rugged as my fiences Jeep but it gets me to work, home and out for the snow beer )

I am going to the Super Chevy show in Milan Michigan. We have to pick up some parts. We just measured it up and a small block chevy will fit into the back. I have an engine cradle that will fit into the back to keep the engine from shifting and all of the tie down points possible.

I know you know what you are doing, but i would be very carefull if you have plans to use the tie downs on the floor/back of the seat... as you can see they aren't "that" strong and if the weight transfers, well, you know.... Fortunately, the motor is actually just across in Port Huron. (10 KM) We are going to us the tie downs on the floor but only as backup ones. The Primary ones are going to be the child restraints and the loops in the sides. Since the motor is going to be in a cradle then the shifting of the motor will be negligable. The only thing that we have to worry about is the sliding of the engine on the floor. Plywood is going down to ensure that the cradle does not move as easily.The Chevelle is in a 1000 pieces right now. The project has been delayed since my truck needed some major work. I am not taking my truck since my buddy and I are going on a longer trip to Milan the gas would be a nightmare. (8 -9 MPG)I do not have a camera as of yet so I cannot post pictures. Sorry.God I need a smaller utility trailer.

earlier this year I bought a 42" LCD HDTV, came in a pretty big box. I didn't even think about if it would fit in the car. When I had paid for the TV, the guys from the store wheeled it out front on a cart, and said something like "Pull your truck up here and we'll load it for you". So I went and pulled up in the Vibe. The look on the guys's faces was priceless, they saw me pull up in this little hatchback and you could see, they knew there was no way I was going to get it in there. As one of them started to tell me about their delivery service, I opened the hatch, dropped the back seats, and the TV slid in there just fine. I could have carried two, maybe three of them if I needed to. After it was loaded, they walked away, shaking their heads, then one came back (I guess since I had debadged the car) to ask what kind of car it was. Go Vibes!

I had to go pick up a big boy recliner. Of course with the recliner fully together it would not fit. But since it came in two pieces. It fit perfectly. But as with Joatmom, the guys did not think it was gonna fit, so I had to put it in the hatch area my self.

Haha I just saw that, like two years later... sorry. He didn't get to come in the car, all the seats were down. So it was one guy (me) and a bunch of crap in the vibe.

LOL I drag all of my vending stuff to places like the Medieval Faire etc. Couple of weekends ago I insisted on helping hubby gather up some free firewood. Since I've had 3 back surgeries, I knew I'd need some pain meds before I even left. Well, got almost done loading the back with the seats down and the pain meds started making me sick! I broke out sweating etc and was just ready to go home! Thankfully we only lived a few miles away Here is my problem.....now try hard not to laugh!! I went to close the driver's side passenger door and in my daze, I didn't realize that 1 of the hunks of wood had a know sticking out of it.....so I forced the door closed. I didn't see the damage until the next day I have a good sized hole on the inside part of that door....and I can't seem to find a place that sells just the plastic portion. Guess it would help if I knew what the heck to call this part eh? Any thoughts?

Back in August I hauled this:another shot:There are 16 Small U-haul Boxes! As you can see there is room for a couple more.

I've hauled quite a lot of random stuff in my Vibe, filling up the back on several occasions. I also frequently haul a 14 foot canoe on the roof. But one of my favorite things about the Vibe is that the rear glass opens if you want to haul long objects, but don't want the hatch open. I work at a local building supply store, and quite often will haul lumber home for weekend projects. The longer (but lighter) stuff, I just stick out the rear glass with a flag on it. Works great!

i havent had to haul a large object yet, accept my 42" tv, but other then that nothing.. the tv fit perfectly though, which is great, woulda never been able to put it in my sunfire...i've also put 2 bikes in it..which is nothing special..and 4 sets of golf clubs(bags+pull carts)

I loaded a gas stove (not in the box) with room to spare, my friend (whos stove it was) has a Dodge Caliber said he wouldn't have been able to load the stove into his car.

I haul my whitewater kayak in the back all the time, keeps it from getting stollen off of the rack. It is also quicker than strapping it down and saves a little on gas.

Nice! I hauled a new dishwasher in the box in my Vibe a couple weeks ago.

I've got 2 tires in the back right now... will hopefully have 2 more after lunch...Not that 4 tires is impressive... I bet with all the seats down I could get 8 in there.

We easier fit a 46" LCD TV in the Vibe --- should have seen the clerks face when he saw it fit

We managed to fit an entire IKEA malm bed (queen) + two nightstands. Disassembled.I wish I had a picture. It almost all fit, but I did have to roll down the right rear passenger window to let one corner stick out.

22 bags of mulch (5 on the roof - 17 in the cargo area). Our daughter's car seat is on the passenger side, so I could only fold down the driver-side rear seat.

On this trip to Home Depot I managed to fit a 24x80 interior door (pre hung), a 24x18 vanity w/ marble sink and new set of glass doors for the tub. All inside with the hatch closed. I still had room for more.
