For Sale Good Engine Parts in Michigan:
http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/pts/5226453599.html
"We have a large quantity of leftover parts from an ongoing research project on late-model Toyota 4 cylinder engines. These include the 1.8L 1ZZ-FE"
Wants your bad engine:
http://annarbor.craigslist.org/cto/5265648683.html
"We are conducting a research project on engine problems with 4-cylinder Toyota 2.4L engines, engine code 2AZ-FE. These engines are widely used throughout all model ranges from 2002 through 2009 Camry, Highlander, RAV-4, Scion tC, Solara, and 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Pontiac Vibe. We are interested in engines with blown head gaskets, rod knocks, or high oil consumption issues. If you own one of these vehicles with less than 150,000 miles and want to sell it rather than attempting to repair it, contact us for a very competitive offer. "
This has me intrigued. Saw a parts Vibe with a rod knock.... maybe a flipping opportunity.

Hmmmm ..... Maybe in another year or two I'd be willing to swap Junior's Vibe GT engine for a rebuilt OR new one if the price was right. His 2.4L was consuming roughly one quart per 1500 miles. It's sitting at around 66k miles right now. Then one time it was less oil consumption. It must vary on how hard he drives the thing. Either way, his engine is definitely one of the few that consumes oil

I think this is as close to new you can get at this point... I just wonder what happened over the last five years.
Model 2SL26: Great Xmas gift! I have a 2010 Pontiac Vibe with 900 actual miles and still smells showroom new inside. It is red hot metallic with a charcoal interior and cost over $21000 with all the options.

I almost wonder if someone watched Ferris Bueller's day off one to many times. 900 miles on the odometer 90,000 on the car.

Unless it was stuck in an estate transfer for the last five years, I doubt someone just forgot about the lil red Vibe in the back of the garage.

It could've very simply been someone's grandmother's. My grandmother had the same deal going when she lived in LA. She mostly walked places unless she needed more groceries than should could carry or had to occasionally travel a bit too far. That Ford Tempo had no mileage on it! (It was, however, still a Tempo.) Not to mention, things can be get pretty locked up in estate issues if someone passed away. Yes, even for years.
No offense to newer Vibe owners, either, but is this the car current scammers generally pick to pull a fast one?

Wasn't this the same car "supposedly" for sale a year or two ago ??? I recall this same, if not very similar, 2010 on this site somewhat recently. Doesn't say how much cash/check they want. Doesn't say if it is from the original owner. Lots of other details missing. Sounds fishy

This as is a total joke. Anybody seriously selling a car and wanting to find a buyer, will have the CORRECT
ACTUAL photos of the car being sold! NOT three completely different pics from the internet. The one from Tom Ahl dealership was taken over FIVE years ago and is near me in Lima Ohio. Stay away from this misleading ad

It's good that you recognize the pics, I wouldn't have known. It's too far away for me to be able to check out.

dmottv: You don't have to be close close to smell the rat(s). Look at the watermarks in the pictures, look at the license plates. They don't match. The pictures in this ad are also chosen so they don't show any back ground. Also be aware if an ad supposed to be from Michigan and it has palm trees in it. The malicious scam ads typically offer ridiculously cheap prices. Remember: if it is to good to be true it probably is not true.

MR2 Spyder,... Powered by Vibe!
http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/5536407647.html
I've owned the car for five years now. It's 17 years old, but still a blast to drive! A real driver's car. The car actually has an engine from a 2006 Pontiac Vibe (they both use the toyota 1zz engine from the toyota corolla.) So the engine of the car has about 93k miles on it atm and the rest of the car has 136k

found this 03 vibe in chicago. 95k miles and looks pretty good on the outside. Inside looks a bit dirty and needs a clutch apparently but 2k isn't too bad.

Opening bid of only $3500 on this '09.
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/ctd/5605661675.html
This one also caught my eye. Over 100,000 miles more on this '08 than on my '09. I'd certainly take a hard look at this one for the price. With that many highway miles, I'm betting it would last well over 300,000.

not mine, and I am not interested in this offer
not sure how long it might be there, so quoted below:
Curb alert- free ex wife (White Plains)
condition: salvage
Free to good home- my now ex wife. She likes to roam as I just found out despite how good I was to her. I don't think she is up to date on her shots so please don't let her around others in the event she may be contagious. I went and made sure I was clean which thank the good lord I am, not that she ever gave me any attention in the last couple of months and now I know why. She is not toilet trained so please take caution in case you see any stains on the carpet. Good luck to whoever is fortunate enough to take her in, you're a better man than me.
