Two-ways WOULD be fun for the trip through the park, if we do that. I'm sure I have some laying around, and they are stupid cheap too.

Off the busy highways but easily accessible, the peaceful BAYOU BLUFFS area along Rooks Creek and the Vermillion River once served as a hunting ground for the Kickapoo and Potawatomi Indian tribes. The "Bluffs" area was also chosen by the settlers of the 1830's for its wood, water, and stone and these are the same things that appeal to campers of today.
This 300 acre farm with 82 acres of woodland and two miles of water frontage allows a hiker a chance to wander, and the fisherman a chance to try his luck in the surrounding creeks, river, and our 3 acre stocked pond.

I'm definitely down to try to get in on this meet. I was planning on making the trip if it were anywhere within a 600 mile radius from either Cedar Falls, IA or Decorah, IA. Pontiac, IL is under 300 miles from my apartment so that will be perfect.

My work schedule for the summer is pretty flexible as I have the luxury of setting my own hours. As long as the date is set and firm within a couple of weeks prior to the date, I can shift things around to free up a couple of days for the event.

Woo hoo! It's great to see more and more people posting about coming as the date draws nearer! I am thinking we should at least match the turnout of the 2010 Indy meet (approximately 20 Vibes), if not beat it!

I would like to know who will be arriving in Pontiac on Friday. If there are enough people arriving Friday, I will probably book a room for Friday and Saturday nights.

we should be in around 2-3 on Friday if traffic flows smoothly.

Not me I'll head out early Saturday morning and meet up with all others mid-day Saturday. It's probably only a 5 hour drive so that's not bad at all. Then I'll leave Sunday afternoon sometime. One night in a hotel will be it for me

I'll be there Friday. Not sure what time I want to aim for, but I'll be there.


Itinerary for Saturday (as of writing):

10:00 - 1:30: Meet in Pontiac. Museums, foods, fun.
1:30 - 4:00: Starved Rock State Park (includes driving time to park)
5:30: Cruise Night back in Pontiac
7:00: Dinner at Pontiac Family Kitchen

Anything after dinner is whatever anyone wants to do. I budgeted too much time for driving to Starved Rock intentionally, as it will give us more time for driving and pictures.

Also: Bring two-way radios (walkie-talkies). Much safer than any cell phone while driving to Starved Rock, and cheaper than full-on CBs.

Sounds good Nick....I will be their Friday guessing around noon.

But, Nick, CB's would allow us to use truckerese, and give ourselves awesome nicknames!!! Of course, someone would be required to be Candy-Cane. L-M-A-O

I'll buy some ASAP.

I'm going to defer that question to Carrie. As, if she knows it or not, she will be the lead car for the drive.

I'll also be leaving on Friday so I should be in Pontiac by mid-afternoon. I'll have to dig up some two-way radios. I'm pretty sure that I have two that I can bring, if anyone needs to borrow one.

I'm excited to see everyone's Vibes in person. I'm particularly hopeful that someone will show up with the Magnaflow catback system. I really want to hear one in person so I can decide if I want to buy that or piece together a kit around a different muffler.

I'm going to try to bring a cooler and a few growlers of beer from a local brewer up in Decorah, IA. They have some great stuff so any consenting 21+ year old adults that will be around on Friday night are certainly welcome to have some. I usually prefer dark brews but I can bring a lighter amber or IPA for variety.

Alright, it sounds like there will be quite a few of you arriving Friday afternoon/evening, so I guess I will be coming down Friday afternoon/evening and spending the night Friday and Saturday. Perhaps we can do dinner or something, or just hang out in the parking lot .

I have no problem being the lead Vibe Nick! I'll have to figure out what will be the best way to Starved Rock and back though.

That would be so awesome if we could get one of the Cahokia, IL Vibe GT police cars to come to the meet!

That's a 9-hour drive out for me. I'd love it if I could leave Friday a.m., but that depends on who is coming with me and when they can leave.

I would like to introduce myself.. My Name is Tim, I bought a Red 2009 Vibe GT back last August and been reading the forums since then.

I saw you are going to have a meet on June 15, I think that will be fun so sign me up.. I'll be there !

This is my first Vibe and I have to say it is a fun car to drive, I have not any any problems since I bought it in last year... other then the Minnesota winter of -45 below zero wind chill factor killing my battery lol.

Al though I'm new to Vibe, I'm not new to Pontiac's !! I have had 3 Pontiac Sunfires !! another fun car to dive !
