Great to hear the grille block worked for you! This summer I want to try and get an undertray done, for some more MPGs. 33 is good, 34+ is better. More pictures I took today

Funny things happen to brackets when you attach them to a device that can catch air, and drive for nearly four straight hours at 70+ miles an hour in the wind. In other words, the brackets are shot and the novelty wore off. Also, we haven't gotten any significant snow, so I never would have needed it anyway. It's in the trunk. It was unique, but it became a pain. And hey, it can be put back on at any time.

Haven't had much use for a shovel here this year either...back in the mid to upper 40s again tomorrow...and I'm not complaining. JR

My oh my, what have we here? Let's take a closer look...Hmmm...Yes. Oh yes. Thank you, Brian! This spring is going to be awesome. My Vibe will look much different for the Erie meet, what with the new rims, Canuck springs and spoiler all going on soon. I can hardly wait!

With today's nearly 60 degree warmth I finally got a chance to hand-wash my Vibe! No more touchless washes this season. Geese are returning and birds are chirping. Spring, bring. It. ON.

Right here:http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-...p=mtrIf you want good hood height, put the struts in the hole 06pvibe recommends. I did, and even Brian liked the extra height.(roughly half way down the page)http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=40005

This link on ebay comes with 2 struts right? One on driver's side and one on passenger side?

Yes sir, two struts. One for the drivers side, one for the passenger side.

Perfect! Thanks for the link. I think these should of been stock on the Vibe. So does it hold up the hood nicely? Does it handle the weight of it easily?

Your vibe looks great! And I'm oh so jealous that you were able to wash it by hand.. I'm still waiting for spring to get here.

Thanks again for the hood struts link on ebay. Ordered a set yesterday and just waiting for it to get here. Ordered some 6mm x 1.0 nuts and washers as well to place them in the open holes on the sides. I wish I had these struts installed a few years ago. I had a "here's your sign" moment in college with the hood prop rod. I was jumping a buddy's car at my house after some pre-game tailgating and I hadn't had my Vibe for very long. I'm used to driving cars that don't have hood prop rods and began slamming my hood down with the rod still up. Before it hit me, the damage was done. I was able to smooth out the dents I put in my hood, but I wasn't able to smooth out the dents in my pride. I still catch crap from my buddies.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure what the drop is, but I have a feeling it's more than 1.5 inches, which is what I wanted. Compare these pictures and take a guess (I forgot to measure before the drop).

Canuck's website states 1.75" drop on a 2WD Vibe.

1.) I like your vibe
2.) Stealing your front L.E.D light idea.
3.)Where did you get the VVTI sticker/badge? and can it be found in blue?
4.) I really like your vibe
5.) Is it bouncy-er with the drop or have you not noticed a difference?
6.)Did I mention that I like your vibe?

:D

1. Yay! Thank you.
2. 'kay.
3. http://grafxwerks.com/shop.php?part=VIBA2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; <-- all the sticker bits for your Vibe should be here. The VVT-I is here
4. Much appreciated
5. It's perfectly solid with the new springs. They're similar to the factory ones, but my ride is still nice and smooth. Of course I can't give a perfect verdict because I replaced my wheel bearing, which drastically smoothed out my ride.
6. Maybe...

This is a good opportunity to post a few new pics!

Several weeks ago I put on the Home Depot lip, and just didn't post pictures. I think it rounds out the front end nicely. The 3M tape did nothing to hold it up, so it's held on by a series of strategic screws. And to get it to conform to my bumper shape, I cut triangles out in several places.

Oh yeah. I got the spoiler before the Genvibe Erie meet. Odd that I never said anything... But with as far as I've gone with my Vibe, I think it helps 'round out' the look.

My lights! They work! I guess the only issue was an inadequate ground to the lights. They're mounted at the plate bolts, which means they don't have a chassis ground, and I had to run wires. So I found the thickest wire we had (16 gauge, whereas all other wire was 20 or so) and grounded them, and look at the results!

I like!

Best part about this is that anytime I want to try other lights, for any reason, I can just mount them up and they're good to go!

I had to install one in my Vibe, I guess because it was from Ohio (my car is more well traveled than many people). I got it from Toyota. Just call and ask for an engine block heater for a Toyota Matrix 1ZZ-FE. It clips right into a hole in the block. I can take a few picture guiding you if you'd like, since no other source has had any good pics.

Noon

Buried to her fog lamps.

By 4pm the was snow up to her badge. But at noon I rolled her backwards, drifted a little, then parked back where I was, just to "plow" my exit path. Once I was home it was evident that I had lowered this car

No regret; dry pavement is for wimps

I have a question about your custom Vibe overlay on the seatbelt warning light. I notice you put an LED inside the housing so it lights up with your parking lamps; what's the best spot to tap the power for it?

Re: KITT222s 04 Vibe garage

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2013 4:08 pm
by KITT222
The nearest source, probably. I tapped off the light for the rear defogger, and put a small hole in the box that houses the other bulb for the seatbelt warning. Very little wire used.

So, back in January, I was rear-ended. So I had to drive around with a bum (really? Censoring the word B U M? Come on, guys. Let's turn this censor down. This is ridiculous) bumper for nearly two months before I had a chance to fix it.

Image

Yeah, I wad mad, but kept my cool. I didn't feel bad for holding them up because the other driver was at fault. An automated vehicle could have been in the same accident. Nevertheless, we got the insurance check and ordered brand new (nearly) parts!

The bumper bar and foam are off an 06 Vibe somewhere in Michigan. Thank you mystery Vibe!

Image

After cutting the zip ties and undoing the three bolts that were holding the cover on

Image

Removed the rebar and foam. And wouldn't ya know it... not a lick of sheetmetal damage!

Image

I've done this picture before. Except the bumper up top looked like the one on the bottom.

Image

And here she is, all fresh and clean after an automated wash to get all the grime off her (she was salty as a french fry). It fits well, and the color isn't too off. It'll all blend in eventually.

Happy 10th birthday to my Vibe! I'm so proud of my car. We also rolled over 30,000 miles together. I await 156,432 miles. At that point and beyond, I'll have put majority of the miles on the car.

Also, Photoshop gave me some ideas...
