man that sucks..coulda been worse, like a car or something instead of the snow bank

uhhh yeah it could of been much worse, I fixed the ambient temp sensor, it had just come unplugged. The broken thing behind the lower grill is the passenger side brake air duct that broke, so Ill order that. and I got bolts/washers/nuts for the wheel liner. All that will be left is that little crack up front...nothing to bad :s

damn parnell!!!glad you're ok though, and glad it was just a snow bank.just remember what our great leaders say... bodes well with a turbo too. "with great power comes great responsibility... "oh wait. that was spiderman.have fun, but drive safe!

ouch! that sucks! I'm sorry. however, as we all have experienced the whole "whoa! turbo!" thing (those of us who have moved from NA to F/I) it takes some getting used to. gotta keep it slow plus crappy tires just don't do the trick. Glad you're ok. as for fixing the fender wheel well, I have some experience in this and used some metal flashing we used on the garage roofing, folded it over and then nut and bolted the them together. I'll find the photos of what I did, it'll make sense I'm sure (I hope).

ha ha ha... brand new car and already....Sorry man couldn't resist! Good news is, now if someone doored it you don't have to be so mad... just look at the front.

hahhaha thanks brent...i guessI fixed the side of the bumper, fixed the air ambient sensor (it came unplugged) and i bought washers, bolts, nuts to put in the place of those plastic fastners in the wheel well to the bumper. Should all be okay but that little crease/crack in the front bottom. ill try to autox soon though so I'll prolly nail some cones...this is a race car, something of this nature was bound to happen...like hitting a deer, racoon or squirrel.

well the ice pile was nothing...a deer ran INTO my car today on the way to Ely for work....yeah.....I was driving maybe 1/4 a mile behind this woman and I saw her slow down for a deer walking across the road up ahead. So when I got closer I slowed from the 55mph limit to less than 30mph. I was looking for deer on the edges of the road, didnt see any (it does ravine right on the edges) then all of a sudden I hear a BAM! look in my mirror and see a dumb deer stumbling around then takes off. GRRRRIt may not "look" bad, but its bad, the handle got pushed in at least 3 inches. paint is chipping off the creases and theres still that dumb things hair in the window for DNA evidence so I can sue it for lots of money

I'll go easy on you and start with the stock 08 STI in I mode.... then maybe S mode, and on to S# mode. after that, we'll go with the 07 STI stg 1 and of course the LGT which is stg 3+++ (until Saturday and back to stock). Stg 1 is just around the corner for me. i'm at mile 655, only 345 miles to go! I think I can burn thru that before the weekend! :Dand btw, unless it's a true muscle car, V8 isn't really competition.

LOL i know...never had a issue with a car until this ms3 ok dealer called this morning, oil is said to be fine color and smell wise, it was just above max level a tad. they are checking into the noise now and are doing a oil change to make sure its at normal level... i have pics from my iphone of the oil but in the pics it looks normal i think, but in person it had this green tint to it....maybe im color blind now :/
Posted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 2:53 am
by AKLGT
do you have coolant mixed in with the oil??? wierd. my coolant is green, so that'd be my immediate response, however not even sure how that'd happen. still so strange.
Posted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 2:58 am
by northvibe
my coolant is green too, but no the oil shows no separation of fluids, no creamy white crap or foam so its not coolant. I have pics from my iphone but in them it looks kinda normal. when i get home ill post them. i still havent heard back yet from the noise, they called me at 7:30am about the oil, so it must be a hard diagnosis.
Re: (northvibe)

If your coolant was mixing with your oil, you would have a creamy white residue on the underside of the oil cap and your oil would look milky instead of brown.
Posted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:32 am

uhh yeah the ms3 is fine, i guess a pebble/rock was caught in the belt on/near the tensioner. car had a oil change and removal of the pebble and its running great. @#$#@ stupid things
