hey guys, I just have a few questions about the rally.I started talking to my wife about it last night. She is against it (that and shallow funds is the reason I said I couldn't come) anyway, I've never been to anything like this before. The main question is would there be anything for my wife and possibly two-year-old to do (I could more than likey get someone to watch her for a few days)? Do people bring their signifigant other to this? She's just scared that all it would be is a bunch of guys talking about their cars. I know that's what this whole site and everything is about, but I'm sure it's more than that. For me it's getting to meet most of the friends I've made on here and the cars and car-talk is extra Anyway if I can find a reason for her to go then that could change her mind. I'm determined to go next year, but I really want to come meet everyone. I think she would enjoy it b/c I know you guys wouldn't leave her out of all that goes on.Thanks for any info.

What does she like to do? This is in the middle of Dallas, so there's plenty to do. There's the Dallas World Aquarium, a cool place both she and your 2yo should like. There's a flight museum right across the street. They could go to the Dallas Zoo, or the WestEnd Marketplace - a big shopping/entertainment area.The meet itself is likely to be mostly guys hanging around talking about cars and other guy-intensive topics, some working on their cars, probably much like she expects. My wife and son (then 2 also) came with me to San Antonio for the meet last year, but spent the day cruising around the Riverwalk while I was at the meet.

has anybody though of a place to do a group shot?? almost like the North Central meet had?

Well, I'm not "Mr. Marriage Counselor" or anything, but your wife is actually correct...we are mostly a group of guys (and one gal...nope two gals...nope, back to one... at last count) gettin' together talkin' and showin' off our cars. That's the point of a meet! The problem you have is this: even if there are other things to do (and as GMJAP pointed out, there's lots of stuff nearby), how will she get to them? Will you just go to the meet for an hour and go somewhere else? That may be your only option.My wife is planning on going and putting up with my shenanigans because we have a nephew in the Dallas area that we hope to see on Sunday. She, however, will be stuck with me all of Saturday. If she goes through with this, I'm gonna have to buy her something nice and sparkly!We really want you to come, but not at your family's expense.

lol yea there is alot to do in dallas but there prob right sadly lol anyways..... looks like Mellee is droping out to go to a wedding lol so it will again be just a bunch of guys hanging around talking about vibes..... maybe some other types of cars and showing off mods... aww the glorious mods lol and then we will hang out

no kididng man only a few months away cant wait I plan on having my exhaust by then :cross fingers: also i might buy some rotors drilled and slotted for maximum braking lol i think im going to be needing that in Houston lol

lol yea she wants me to go with her..... But I am going to the meet lol don't want to miss this but anyways..... I started thinkingis anyone good with photoshop..... because we need to make a printout or something so anytime we see a vibe..... stick that sheet on there window ..... because I have seen at least 10 or more vibes today... and I just went and got something to eat.... I was at town east and saw at least 20 parked...... make this meet even greater maybe not as focused on like mods and stuff like that but more of a gethering of vibe enthusist just something to think about

man that sounds like an awesome plan to put flyers on other vibes to get more into the site, i know ive seen quite a bit of vibes only one GT though and i know who she is well its actually my firends sister but shes not into this kind of stuff oh well.... also seen an all black with rims and the sports package looks pretty sweet i say well im looking forward to seeing you all in 6 weeks laterz-SSW-

ive seen a vibe that looks very im mean i could of been yours Glenn here in SA but i know it wasnt yours but for a second i thought. but yea i have seen a boat load of vibes lately and like 3 GT's!!! and ive also seen like 4 Fusion Vibes too and all were this week!!!i have added a countdown time to my myspace page. i will start a count down here aswell.

If anyone has a soldering gun and is fairly proficient in using it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could bring it to the meet to help me out with something.

Well, I don't know if anyone will be checking this from the meet, but I won't be able to make it out. Last night my car started trying to die and all the lights (headlights and fogs weren't even visible, I think they were actually completely off!) and electronics were shutting off in my car including the dash assembly, my radar detector, etc... I know this has something to do with the electrical problems I have been having but unable to get looked at let alone fixed due to not having a job for the last 7mo, and then to top it all off I found out last week all of a sudden that I wasn't getting unemployment anymore, so now I'm really screwed. My wife finally decided last night to send my old alternator and stuff I asked her to send weeks ago today. When this happened I took it to Autozone to have the battery checked, and they said the voltage was fine, but that the CCA's were kind of low, and he said it must be the alternator. This is the High-Output alternator I bought on Ebay not 6 months ago! I tried charging the battery last night and it seemed like it might be OK, but less than 2mi into my trip the battery light was already on strong and the car was chugging like it was getting weak, so I came straight home. The only thing I can really do is wait for the parts to get here and try swapping out the alternator and go from there. This really sucks as I was really planning to be out there. I still have my car all packed up and ready to go! Spent yesterday washing and preparing it and getting all the stuff I was going to bring out there to sell ready. I hope someone takes lots of pics for me! Don't know what I'm going to do if one of these jobs I have been trying to get calls me before my parts get here!
